With certain pre-orders you get the option of downloading the film on August 20th.

Nope. I've got a BR player and homecinemaset and HDTV. I didn't pay that much money for all those stuff to then watch movies on a laptop with crappy speakers. ;)

It'll be from a streaming service like Vudu.

Exactly. The WalMart pre-orders that include the download are specifically for Vudu I believe. Someone mentioned earlier about watching it from a laptop.. if you have a Smart TV or a BluRay player with SmartApps on them then Vudu is likely installed on there and you should be able to watch it in HD from these locations.

I have the DVD on pre order from Amazon, but I'm also downloading it for my Kindle. Yes, small screen, crappy speakers but it will stave off withdrawals until I get the DVD in my hot fan girl hands!

I'm not doing any early downloads. As it stands I'll probably end up buying the Blu-Ray/DVD combo-pack from Target as it comes with an extra disc of extra special features. I love special features, commentary tracks especially.

I'll buy STID from iTunes on that date - no preordering necessary.

My PC screen is a TV so I could watch it on there just fine, but I think I'll wait till the bluray.

RAMA, you've been making a habit lately of starting threads with posts which are either cryptic (as this one) or consist only of a title and link. That needs work.

You should at least make it clear what the thread is about and (preferably) offer some comment of your own as a place for discussion to begin; it shouldn't have to fall to someone else to explain your topic for you.

What you should not do is act like a dick toward someone who's only asking you what your thread is about.

M', not a mind-reader and didn't know WTF you were talking about, either

I thought it was major, well-known news that STID will be available early for download. Did I really need to clarify this on a STID forum that includes tons of DVD-Bluray news? Apparently so...

I don't mind admitting I'm a really picky snob when it comes to AV quality, so HD or not, a download won't compete with the BD. The UK release date is the 02nd September, so I can definitely wait to immerse myself in the movie on my set up at home with the real deal.
