Plus Jim Lee won't be working on the adaption so there's that :)

I hope the New 52 stuff doesn't get used too much. New 52 JL is just horrible, and the first arc was really boring also. Hopefully this sells/reviews poorly so they go back to adapting good stuff.

I actually love the Public Enemies movie (I never read the comic it was based on). I can't really pick a favorite with the DC animated movies, but S/B: Public Enemies was one I really enjoyed.

Someone needs to explain why they have not done a Justice League: Kingdom Come. That story would make a perfect film adaptation and like TDKR they could do it in multiple parts.

But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. We have to have Flashpoint and Nu52 :(

They've repeatedly explained it as they're often asked about it. It would take a much bigger budget than these movies have to do the art style justice.

Yep Bruce Timm has explained plenty of occasions (basically every SDCC when it comes up) why they haven't done "Kingdom Come" yet, same with stuff like "Dark Victory" or "The Long Halloween".

Apparently the featurette for "Justice League: War" has cropped up on the internet now that Flashpoint: Paradox is out...and been pulled too by Warner Brothers. However, I did manage to read a few responses, and unfortunately it would appear that Aquaman won't be in this adaption and instead Shazam will be taking his place. Can anyone confirm this who has seen the featurette?

    I found the featurette here

I don't like how the interviewees all have to pretend like the story they're adapting is awesome and basically not bring up the fact that the story arc had all the members acting like giant a-holes (which still continues to this day). I mean, i didn't expect them to bad mouth the story, but when they talk about "interpersonal dynamics" between the characters, all they can mean is that they all act like idiots and hate each other from the beginning. I will say that the samples of scenes actually have much better written dialog with the characters, and they don't seem to sound like such a-holes to each other. That could just be the stuff the showed, but I think this story will be better than the mediocre comic it was based on.

there also seems to be atleast one scene with Darkseid on Apocalypse with Desad, instead of just having him barely appear with almost no dialog at the end like the comic did, which is interesting

Also, they do mention Captain Marvel (I won't call him Shazam, even if the new 52 version is horribly written and nothing like the real version) but its only once and they didn't outright say he's in the story. Still, no one mentioned aquaman even once, even when they mentioned the names of the rest of the League, so its not looking good for aquaman.

They really do get some great casts together for these movies.

Cool. I'm glad to see them finally expanding their solo movies beyond just Batman & Superman again. I wonder if this means we might get a Flash DCAU movie too?

Possibly. I can see Geoff Johns pushing an adaption of his Aquaman ongoing, just disappointed though that Arthur isn't included. It makes no sense to include Shazam in the story.

About as much sense at it makes to call him "Shazam" instead of Captain Marvel. How the heck can he introduce himself without changing back to Billy? (Although Captain Marvel, Jr. has long had the same problem, since he transforms when he says "Captain Marvel.")

Captain Marvel is one of my favorite heroes, but DC has just ruined him. Its weird, because I should want to see my favorite DC hero get attention, but I don't like Shazam at all. I like Capain Marvel, and he's not really around anymore, just an imposter with a slightly similar costume.

Also, they got around the CM jr name thing in the old DCU by having him call himself CM3 and in the New 52 they just call him King Marvel.

Since we're on the subject of movie adaptations, I would like to see an adaptation of Injustice: Gods Among Us (video game). This is a really cool game that I have played on my PS3 countless times featuring DC heroes and villains. I love the single player modes and have downloaded numerous DLC characters. I completed the story mode, which was just as good as an animated movie would have been. Considering they have added various characters like Lobo, Zod, J'onn J'onzz, etc. as extras, I would love to see an updated film with voices by Kevin Conroy, Carl Lumbly, and lots of other notable DCAU voice actors.

Looks like we're getting costume alterations in "Justice League: War". I would have thought for sure we'd be getting Jim Lee's designs in this since the look of the art is a criteria of theirs. Unless they decided that art wasn't working very well heh. Bruce doesn't seem to have his Tron outfit on either :)

Depends on the project. Some of the DCU movies have echoed the art style of their source comics, while others have used new designs. There's never been an absolute uniform policy about it.

Lee's sense of costume design is rather... overcomplicated, isn't it? All sorts of seams and details and such. That wouldn't translate well to animation. Animated character designs tend not to use more lines than they need to, so that they can be animated more fluidly.

I just watched the preview of Justice League: War that I assume was attached with "Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox" on Youtube and I still think it is bizarre that they've swapped Arthur with Billy. This in my opinion, changes the entire dynamic of the team during this particular arc. I realize that it is only an adaption and not exact, but still that is a very significant change. Also they talked about using Jim Lee's art, so perhaps most of it will still be included in the film.

But if they are using Jim Lee's art, then why did they change the costume designs?

^Like I said, Lee's New 52 costumes are really, really detailed in a way that's ill-suited for animation. 2D animation works best with clean, simple lines.

Plus, Lee's New 52 costumes are mostly pretty awful-looking, so maybe that's a reason too...
