It's Grillin' Season

I remember when I invented grilled corn on the cob. I had never seen it or heard of it and I was convinced I was the first person ever to come up with this wonderful idea
Do you get a lot of corn there? I know it's grown in parts of Indonesia and New Zealand, but it just doesn't seem like something that would be too popular. Then again, I have no idea. Still, you get a pass.

Ask any American Native and she'll tell you it's the only way to cook it. My cousin, for example, finds the whole idea of boiling corn on the cob to be hysterically ludicrous. Frying the kernels is okay too.

Sure, it's readily available.

And the BBQ, or "barbie" is an australian institution. One I have no interest in partaking in as it often involvs mounds of seasonless meat, iceberg lettuce turned pink with pickled beetroot and copious amounts of beer. Which doesn't make up for the traditionally awful fare. But 99% of the country would not agree with me.

Not sure there's a grilling time of year in England, but it was sunny the other day! So we did have a BBQ. Burnt it all, not enough practicing days :P

I'm all about the grilling... Having a vegetarian daugher, however, I have to make sure I keep one section of the grill free of any meat particles... I will grill just about anything, including veggies.. Love it..

Last year, I received a smoker for Father's Day.. Best. Gift. Ever.... I just made some St. Loius Style ribs yesterday that I have to say were the best I've ever made/had... Damn they were good... Smoking foods takes a lot of time and practice and you have to know what kinds of wood go with what foods... Done right, you almost never need a sauce to go with at the table..

The gas grill I've had for almost 11 years died in March, and I've had a new one now for a couple of weeks, and I'm still getting to know it's hotspots and flare up zones. I cook just about everything on my grill: steaks, chicken, salmon, veggies, burgers, and I've done pizza and quesadillas. Fortunately in Denver, except for a very few really bad weather days you can grill all year long, and I do.

Man you learn things every day on this board. I didn't know you can BBQ Pizza, yet based on this thread, it's pretty common. I would think it's pretty hard to do, but maybe not.

It's easy. Get the grill nice and hot, and then turn off the gas (or move the charcoal) from under where you're going to place the pizza. It doesn't take long to cook, just make sure you have a peel, or a good tool to get the pizza off the grill or you're going to make a huge mess.

The Pizza goes right on the grill or does it go on a pan so it doesn't leak under?

You can put it right on the grill.

You can put it right on the grill. Baking sheet might be okay too. But like I said up-thread, a stone is the best way to go.

Weber and Dyna-Glo both make stones specifically for their grills. And one of Brinkmann's grills actually have a special adaptor to insert a pizza stone in place of the grill.
