Venture Brothers

Pretty good opener. Kinda sucks that Brock and the gang couldn't take 21 with them, but it'll be interesting to see what he does with Sphinx...

21 has been shown to have a good relationship with Hank and Dean. I've always speculated that he'll end up replacing Brock and/or Hatred as the Venture bodyguard.

kind of weird since he killed the other Hank and Dean.

EVERYONE has killed Hank and Dean, I'VE killed Hank & Dean.

The running theory on the 'swim board is that 21 will go back to his online business; I'm thinking he'll either turn OSI/Sphinx or he'll start Arching as "The Viceroy".

They seem to be making it pretty clear that 21 is now one of the good guys so I don't see him going arch on anyone.

If anything, my theory's been that, given his pretty easy friendship with Hank and Dean, he'll be trained as a replacement bodyguard for if/when Brock leaves for good.

I notice that this past week's episode had Rusty make a comment that 21 is actually doing a better job guarding the Venture compound than Hatred does.

Monarch and Mrs. The Monarch really need to get some resolution with the whole Arching Doc. angle and reveal what's got him so pissed at Rusty
I don't know if this is WHY the Monarch is so pissed but I'd bet my left nut that Monarch is Rusty's long lost brother and, therefore, another of the many "Venture brothers."

They had a possible hint that effect in this week when Monarch found a picture of him playing with Rusty when they were both kids and Monarch having no memory of it happening and/or why they were together.

I likely missed a line of dialog, but was it explained why Hank is still in the Contessa's golden power armor and "striking" some rather feminine poses while sitting in the latest episode, the one having Dr. Venture vacation at that Greek island?

Sincerely,

Bill

I was watching that wondering "wtf?" but then thought "something happened in last weeks episode....the one that I missed."

So can anyone update me on that ep? The preview looked like 21 was assembling a new Sphinx team. l enjoyed this weeks episode though it was easy to figure out the basic plot of Spanakopita! being a fake holiday.

21 recruits new blood for Sphinx. It does not turn well.

It's the Venture Brothers, it not turning out well is par for the course.;) Details?

Regarding the Monarch and Rusty.....it would be interesting if he is Rusty's brother and that the title of the show actually refers to these Venture Brothers and not Hank and Dean after all.

It would be a heck of a retcon on the title and premise of the show which started out as simply a Jonny Quest \ Hardy Boys spoof.

Brothers or clones?

They were raised side by side, but apart form the eyebrows and one of them going bald... They're practically identical.

The Monarch having no memory of the event leads me to wonder if he's one of Jonas' early cloning experiments. Perhaps the reason Rusty set out to replace his fallen children was because Dad had already tried it and succeeded, only giving up when Rusty's Older Brother 2.0 went down in a plane crash.

Oh, and Spanakopita!!!

How ironic would it be if the Monarch is the real Rusty Venture? Would even help explain the strange circumstances of the conjoined twin; clones growing clones.

If you got a super awesome power suit wouldn't you wear it all the time?

Well, the latest episode certainly confirmed your assessment; Hank just loved wearing the suit as it gave him enhanced abilities.

(I thought he might have been "trapped" within it.)

Sincerely,

Bill

The last episode was great! It actually had a plot involving the Guild and OSI. I still think Season Two was the high point of the show because it had an actual storyline with the Guild and the Soverign and the Phantom. They need to have more of a central storyline like that. And more Brock! And General Gathers!
