"Guilty Little Pleasure Episodes"

Does anybody have any DS9 episodes they like to re-watch that might not be considered to best in the series (or maybe even a "bad" episode) but you can't help but enjoy it nonetheless? Mine is "Distant Voices" from S3, probably because it prominently features Bashir and Garak, one of the most intriguing and entertaining character pairing that the series featured and it's a creepy and mysterious episode. Even though the execution of it is so-so overall, it's still kind of fun to pull out if you're in the mood for a eerie offbeat DS9 story.

The Magnificent Ferengi is one for me. Silly premise, silly execution. Iggy Pop. It makes me laugh to this day.

Isn't Magnificent Ferengi well liked?

Anyway, mine is Rules of Acquisition. It get's the Ferangi story arc going, and it's the first mention of the Dominion.

Put me down for "The Magnificent Ferengi" as well. Nog's line "You shot Moogie!" never fails to crack me up. Is he seriously the only competent Ferengi in the history of the species?

Also, any episode with Garak, but especially "Our Man Bashir". I love his little golf clap when Bashir knocks out the bad guy with a champagne cork.

All three Lwaxana episodes.

A lot of people don't like In the Cards, but I think it's one of the best.

Let He Who Is Without Sin is so spectacularly awful that it makes an entertaining train wreck.

I adore In The Cards! It was perfectly placed in the season, too. Something light and fun right before everything turned grim.

I don't know how popular Treachery, Faith, and The Great River is, but it's one I enjoy rewatching. I love seeing a different kind of Weyoun and Damar getting the upper hand, at least for a moment.

How could anyone not like "In the Cards"? It's sweet and hilarious.

I thought that it was pretty well-liked. I personally thought it was hilarious- "...souless minions of orthodoxy" :rommie:
As bad as most Ferengi eps were in general, "The Magnificent Ferengi" and "The Dogs of War" were enjoyable (though only part of "Dogs" was focused on the Ferengi but it wrapped up the Ferengi story arc nicely).

The one where Kira, Jadzia, Leeta, and Ezri do lap dances at Quark's. Oh wait, that was a dream I had. :shifty:

I've not seen it in a long time, but I sort of liked "Babel".

I think I've seen "Babel" only twice. I don't re-watch most of the first season all that much, because in my opinion it doesn't get really good until "Duet". But I'll have to watch "Babel" again.

Although "Civil Defense" isn't the strongest episode, I like it because of all of Dukat's pre-recorded messages to the Bajoran workers... and how they end up backfiring on him when he tries to leave the station.

Yeah, I enjoyed those scenes too! :techman: Dukat, at least up until S6, was a great character. Marc Alaimo did wonders with that role. It's hard to believe that MA never became a well-known actor (though he's been a supporting character in a few well-known films)

There's probably less then 10 episodes of the entire series that I flat out don't like. One "guilty pleasure episode would probably be "If Wishes Were Horses", I know it's not very good but I enjoy it anyway.

And kudos to Colm Meaney for refusing to do the script when Rumpelstiltskin was originally a leprechaun. I can imagine his reaction if he saw Voyager's Fair Haven episodes.

Yeah that episode was good. What kind of egomaniac do you have to be to say "I'm gonna make a recording if they do this. Now that. Now this." :p

My DS9 guilty pleasure is when I turn off DS9 and watch an episode of Enterprise instead.

Anyway, I don't believe in the concept of guilty pleasures. Why feel guilt for enjoying something I like, regardless of what other people think.
