Season THREE OFFICIAL TNG Blu-Ray Discussion Thread

Seeing it in motion, it's not as wildly different as you might have guessed based on the screenshots.

There is something just more "right" about the CBS-D version, though.

For those looking for the best price for TNG S3 on release day:

Target will have S3 at $59.99. If you buy ST:TNG BoBW (14.99) at the same time, they will take another $10 off both (So $64.98 for both).

Awesome! Seems like a great price!

I presume that is in-store only and not online?

CBS-D definitely executed better. They actually took the time to give us nice shadows and included a reflection of the probe's rockets on the underside of the saucer. HTV's just looks like they placed a moving object over a screenshot.

The Enterprise in the CBS version is also lit better and has more detail.

It's in next week's ad, so it should also work online. Try adding it to your cart on release week, you can always cancel if it doesn't work.

Looks like Target is going to have the best deal for S3 unless Amazon matches the Price.

Target = S3 for $59.99, BOBW for 14.99, Both S3 and BOBW (save $10 when you buy both) Final Price $64.98

Best Buy = S3 (Will have extra bonus feature) for $69.99, BOBW for $16.99

The CBS-D is definitely better, but that's still one of the less egregious HTV errors in my book. The ship may have looked a bit plastic, but it was at least blended fairly well into the background (unlike a lot of their effects shots).

Plus it was just an awesome looking closeup of the ship.

The Season 4 trailer is not on the set; I don't believe it was completed in time for the Season 3 manufacturing date. I do know that the S4 trailer will be shown at that Best of Both Worlds theatrical event tomorrow, though!

Nice. It's going to be an awesome treat seeing it on the big screen! :techman:

I have my tickets and am ready to see BOBW in theaters. I hope I get a great audience.

Awesome. I'll be watching intently to see how it looks. :)

The Season Four trailer is fantastic... and I'm very impressed with the remastering. We'll have info on Season 4 shortly.

How did they manage to have a season 3 trailer ready 5 months ahead of its release, but did they not manage to have one ready for season 4 which is out in 2 months!

I don't know specifics, but you have to imagine that Season 2 was being worked on while Season 1 was undergoing restoration at the same time, so they had those elements earlier.
