Japanese Trailer

Nice to see the warp effect have some energy to it than just darting away.

The Klingons have never looked better. And we haven't even seen their faces, yet!

I don't know, I've always like those TMP Klingon outfits - they have stood the test of time IMO. I would not have minded seeing them again :)

Hmm. Now it looks like Spock that Kirk is talking to at 0:27. I'd thought earlier that it was Harrison/Khan. Can someone clear that bit up?

I like the Japanese announcer's "Staaaar Trrrrek.... Eeentoo Darrrrknes" vo at the end :)

The way that shot was framed before made it hard to tell who Kirk was addressing, but now it does appear to be part of the "I cannot allow you to do this" exchange and that Kirk turns it around by asking Spock to come along.

Yeah, that's what I figured. It's strange. Thanks M, as always :techman:

Why is Checov wearing a red shirt? It's in the promo posters also. Did he make a department change in the one year after the Nero incident?

He's feeling depressed and wants to commit "death by redshirt"?

(Real reason will doubtless be made clear in the film--can't imagine they just change his shirt with no explanation at all).

He has a fashion sense. Actually...

Kirk promotes him to Chief Engineer after a argument with Scotty that ends with him resigning from the Enterprise. I haven't seen the film, but I wager this is how Scotty ends up on the Vengeance (Adm. Marcus probably snags him for a "special mission"). They need his wisdom aboard the new Excel... er... Vengeance.

Actually, based on what I've seen in other trailers, I think they took the part where Kirk's response to Spock that he doesn't know what he's supposed to do, only what he can do, and instead cut it short and overdubbed his voice from later in the movie where Kirk is asking Harrison if he was going with him or not.
At least I seem to remember a part in a trailer where Kirk is asking that question to the back of a head that isn't Spock's, but Harrison's.
