6th of June?? 6th of frickin' JUNE?!?!?!

TMP was released December 7 1979 Pearl Harbor Day.
STID now being released there June 6 2013 D-Day, fascinating.:vulcan:

I wouldn't read to much into that, at least for this Trek. Paramount has strategically posiitoned STID 2 weeks after Iron Man and if you look at the schedule they have the rest of May free from any major competition.

The next 'big film,' to come out after Trek is After Earh on June 7, and Man of Steel one week later on June 14th. World War Z comes out the next weekend, so June looks full of competition whereas mid May until end of June is not.

It happens.

I was living in Japan when Revenge of the Sith came out on the 9th of July, the worldwide release was May 5th. A painfully long wait. Needless to say I wasn't too keen... although I didn't actually move to Japan to watch films.

Fast and Furious 6 and Hangover 3 are expected to be big. Yes, now that Star Trek is big itself, those two movies are considered direct competition for the Star Trek audience.

I'm guessing they aren't necessarily pulling the same demographics.

And shit, F and F 6. Isn't that more worn out than Trek and need of a JJ re-boot? :)

Not only are they not rebooting it, they decided to release a F & F 7 in 2014 and I think a spin off too.

It premiers April 23 in Australia... sorry guys even living in London isn't enough anymore. To avoid any and all spoilers I will be going off the grid shortly.

That maybe so, but when does it go on General Release in Australia? A premiere can in theory occur weeks before the general public gets to see it.

And some spoilers will invariable occur. No matter how careful people are. Though it'll be nice not to be receiving end for once, as this can occur when the rest of the world has to wait after something has come out in the States first. As others have said it might be best to avoid this sub-forum, but even that doesn't always work as some people spoil in the thread title.

It goes on General Release in Australia on May 9th.
I've already booked my ticket(s). Although it is in a theatre complex known for harbouring a rat population. Still what can you do when you live at the End of the Universe?
