DC's New 52: Reviews and Discussion (Spoilers welcolme and likely)

Jesus Christ, have you no joy in your soul?

It's less that and more how the writer and the fictional universe he constructed works. James Robinson isn't going to put an original movie character in the book. Maybe if it was a book by Goyer or an adaptation of Arrow, this might happen. But the stuff Robinson does is thoroughly steeped the mythology of the DCU comics that what you are saying isn't conceivable.

It is a little disappointing that the Earth 2 series is actually taking advantage of the new reboot more than the Earth 1 (or is it still new earth?) based series. The new 52 hasn't really ended up making real major changes to the characters other than on Earth 2.

I would love to see DC expand the Earth 2 comic book selections. Power Girl and Huntress can return, we can have a Justice Society book, and a Sandman series would be cool too.

I feel the same way. Earth 2 is a true reboot, the kind that hasn't really been seen at DC since Julie Schwartz reinvented the All-American characters in the Silver Age.

I'm actually surprised that we haven't got more from that reality as well...I have been meaning to check it out based on your guys reviews of it...might just do that since I've now dropped "Action Comics" and "Batman Incorporated" is concluding soon.

the movies and comics are not completely the same company, which means that even through they're parts of the same massive beast, there are still rights issues to translating a character to a different media.

What was the deal when Smallville's Chloe joined Action Comics for all of 5 minutes?

I miss her.

I love her.

Season 3 of Wilfred starts in June, and god help me if Allison isn't still associated with the cast and production.

I think it's more likely that John Blake is going to be revealed as Tim Drake's real name.
This is what I've been thinking since we learned that "Tim Drake" isn't even his real name any more.
Wait, what? What the hell is this?
I think it was in Teen Titans #0. We got the "New 52" origin of Tim Drake. Basically, his parents are in the witness protection program and he's living under an assumed identity.

Witness protection?

Drake!

His parents are dead ducks!

That's always been hilarious.

YOU CAN'T TAKE THIS AWAY FROM ME!

Besides Bruce and Tim can't connect as father and son until someone kills Tim's dad.

I bought and started reading the digital version of Wonder Woman Vol. 1: Blood. I made it through the first issue so far, and I am really enjoying it. Although as an animal person I found the creation of the Centurars pretty messed up. I also got Justice League Dark Vol. 1: Into the Dark.

Ancient Greek sickos haven't got a bean on the sicko's from Hasbro toys.

I've seen that before, very funny, and kinda disturbing. Sting me in the hole!
I have to compliment the Bruce Timm and the others responsible for the DCAU. I didn't even realize until I was half way through that hearing Susan Eisenberg's voice whenever I read Diana's dialouge. Same goes for Keving Conroy when I read Batman comics. At this point the DCAU voices are pretty much my defaults for these characters now.
