It was a bad thing when I just watched the show for the first time last year. By then I wanted to get to the parts that people told me were so different and off the wall, not rewatch Star Trek episodes get redone.

Rhapsody in Blue: Who ARE these blue lunatics?! That was pretty interesting, big reveal on Zhaan's crime and weirdass reaction from Crichton.

"You killed the guy you were having sex with?"

"You killed the guy you were having sex with Zhaan!"

Not, you killed your lover! You killed your mate!

The makeup for the Delvians is so impressive.. Zhaan's makeup is the best I've ever seen.

I kept looking at the women's hair and wondering what it reminded me of.. and suddenly I knew. Blond Barbies after their hair has turned into a fluffy rats nest.

And we never heard what dream Aeryn had..

An interesting and oddly compelling episode. I enjoyed the way the pious sanctimonious-ness was shown and not blathered about the whole time. These Delvians are seriously odd and I'm very curious about just how much of a horror the homeworld is. Totalitarian dictatorship? Don't answer that, this is a spoiler free thread

I wonder if this is her place or a real nice hotel. Seems annoyingly color coordinated what with the sheets, the fruit and the roses.

    HAHAHA!

Oh teacake, once you finish the show I hope you go back and reread what you write because you have said something that is incredibly funny to me in an ironic sense.

And every sci-fi show is better with blue people. It's why Smurfs was such a hit. And the fact that the only female Smurf must be a whore, or that all the male ones are gay. But that's a completely other issue.

Oh you would not believe the weirdass things that popped into my head after reading this.

Please do NOT tell me if this is true, or close, or not true, or not close :D

the Delvians are all androids hence the irony of my Barbie comment

And yes, BLUE.. once you go blue nothing else will do. Though I prefer Bolians to Andorians.

    Yay Farscape! :mallory:

I actually really hated DNA Mad Scientist myself. The first season was good, but I'll join the chorus of "It gets so much better."

    I'll tell you in 3.5 seasons. :)

But the Delvians are my favorite species in all of sci-fi.

    Yay Farscape! My favorite ever.

I recently let some friends borrow my box set containing the first four seasons. I intentionally did NOT give them my copy of "The Peacekeeper Wars." When they get to the end of Season 4, I want them to feel my pain! :p

Yea, tell them they can watch it in 2 years. But, hey, unlike us at the end of S4, at least they will know it does exist and they won't be left hanging like that forever

The Flax: Loved it. The burning of the green dolls was hilarious.

D'Argo's temptations were great stuff, both the maps and Kcrackic.

Kcrackic, I LOVED THIS GUY. My god he looks like so many useless petrol heads I've known right down to the hideous fake wool lined flannel jacket. I felt like I was watching a documentary on Aussie blokes of the 80's. Such a nice broad accent too.

I really thought Rygel had screwed them over, right up until the end.

And.. KISSING? In SEASON ONE?!! This bodes well :D

Trapped in a shuttle with oxygen running out these things happen..

But that's as far as it usually goes! Something for the subtexters..not actual ripping off of the clothes!

Imagine if that had happened in Shuttlepod One. It could have been epic.

Jeremiah Crichton: Well that was bloody boring. Great opening with Crichton irritated, left behind, fishing on the beach.. and then bleh.

Simple natives held down by mystery tech needing to be freed. Where have we seen that story before, let's just start with The Apple

    Hella big crab.. needs garlic.

(Obscure aus references keeping coming to mind watching this show..)

It doesn't get much worse than Jeremiah Crichton, which is a good thing, considering that it's just a boring episode and not anything really worse than that.

I, E.T. is my least favorite episode of the entire show, but Jeremiah Crichton is a close second.

Every once in awhile I consider rewatching or correctly..watching this show--as I barely watched any eps after season 2--but then I think about how much I hate Ben Browder and the generally shoddy acting. There are also a couple of eps from season one that make Code of Honor look like a classic.

The more I think of it, I actually like more scifi shows from after 2006-2007 than after the STNG scifi explosion to 2006.

I despised him the minute words came out of his mouth, and from the first episode onward. That I got as far as I did is a tribute to my tenacity with scifi. I ranted about a couple of the episodes here and I still have a copy of the post I made way back when denouncing the series dated April 15th, 2000.

Eh, I wont say anything else since this is a rewatch thread, but the one thing I liked about the show is that ANY scifi on TV even if it does moderately well is good for other scifi. It's much better than when we hardly had any which created a model for execs not to greenlight any.

Some of my favorite series of the last 7 years are on right now, some are webseries.

It's like conceptual art: you don't necessarily have to react to it, you just have to acknowledge that it exists.

Durka Returns: This was beautifully shot. I loved the running scenes through the ship, the camera angles really captured that they are running through tubes in a living creature, full of twists and turns. Very atmospheric.

Now Chiara, I assume a million people have said this before but she reminded me strongly of Blade Runner's Pris.

    Fantastic costuming too!

Not sure why Chrichton is all torqued up about DID she or DIDN'T she kill her captor. Guy was imprisoning and torturing her and taking her back to have her mind wiped.. if she had to kill him to escape I can't see this as a character flaw. Wouldn't Crichton have done the same?

Durka himself.. his accent was the same as the Neimodians who I always thought were a hoot so I was kind of chuckling through a lot of his delivery. A very good episode, quite gripping. I think the way they are using Moya's pregnancy is well done.

The first season was my favorite, the character building and unique perspectives of the crew and the aliens at large made this a fantastic show.
