If you are in the process of deciding a middle name for your child...

Guy Gardener

May I make a few suggestions?

"Danger"

"Surprise"

"Adventure"

(and...)

"Procrastination"

...

(And best of all, they seem to mostly be unisex names.)

Re: If you are in the process of deciding a middle name for your child

"Asskicker." Or "Lil' Asskicker" if you don't mind two middle names.

But the eventual spoonerism that's going to slip out, from the word-salad people is "kill Asslicker" which is just poor parenting in my opinion, painting a target on your kids forehead like that.

How about no middle name at all?

A middle name is needed so the child will know when he/she is REALLY in trouble.

"JOHNNY!"
(Oh, it's just Mom; I'll ignore her)

JOHNNY SMITH!
(Just a minute!)

JOHN ALOYSIUS SMITH!
(Shit! I'm in trouble!)

I've been thinking that the perfect middle name for the modern day would be Dot.
But spelled "."

Re: If you are in the process of deciding a middle name for your child

In the English speaking world, can you decide to spell your child's name with a different language's alphabet, a made up language's alphabet or even a code?

For example: .--- --- .... -. .- .-.. --- -.-- ... .. ..- ... ... -- .. - ....

Or "blackslash" and everyone will think his name is John/Smith.

I actually met a child named "Christopher Danger ____." Seriously. His father wanted his boy to be able to say "'Danger' is my middle name." Uh huh.

What about "Stormageddon"?

^That's what I call my 4 year old niece.

Good point. Just Asskicker then.

SO true! Although my mom didn't stop there - I also got to hear my father's, grandfather's and great-grandfather's names tacked on all in a long shout when it got really bad.

Shithead!

Just kidding XD

Re: If you are in the process of deciding a middle name for your child

I didn't have a middle name growing up and once I change my name back, I won't have a middle name again. My parents definitely found ways to let me know when I was in trouble! Which was always.

An old hippy friend named his son Luke. His last name is Walker.

Yup, his middle name is Sky...

Re: If you are in the process of deciding a middle name for your child

Triskelion!!!!!!!!

Is that Avatar from The African Queen?? IT'S BRILLIANT!!

Re: If you are in the process of deciding a middle name for your child

I think just an initial is needed. Then you get to keep people guessing about what your full middle name is and irritate the hell out of them by telling them they're wrong every time.
