I haven't noticed anyone commenting on this artwork, but am I the only one who thinks these things are . . . not good?

Not very inspired work. Its trying to force TOS into retro/alternative art sensibilities, and its not good.

I for one like most of those poster designs. I appreciate the notion to treat every episode like its own movie which deserves its own artwork. People around here don't seem to like the art, but I dig most of it. Different tastes, I guess.

I don't care for the style and execution. Besides that they just don't gel with the subject matter.

Well, I appreciate the intent, and the execution isn't bad, IMHO. It does take me back to the design sensibilites of the 50s and 60s. But the novelty has worn off.

I think I mentioned early on that I liked these posters. It does remind me of the design of the 50s and 60s as well, and that is probably why I find them interesting. I can identify with it; at the same time, I also get why it may not appeal to others. As someone previously alluded to, to each their own.

I don't really think they are that "bad" just I would not ever consider paying money for them. However, there are quite a few things I would never want to pay for that others buy all the time.

I guess a good bit of people would consider me foolish for buying all the Star Trek on vhs and on dvd, so there you are.

There was this girl in Shanghai...

No, never mind.

(Honest to god, my father said that to me once in all seriousness, and I never got him to elaborate on it)

Most aren't very good, but I definitely like the one for The Omega Glory. May actually pick that one up. :techman:
