The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

It was a crappy, rainy day today. :(

That disruptor looks great. I'm glad devices and weapons from the Prime timeline are still being made for collectors.

I think they have other things planned for later in the year, like phasers, tricorders, etc. This is the first thing out of the line IIRC. It does look pretty awesome.

I'd love to see a new TOS tricorder with authentic sounds and even a light-up display screen. We're way past due for a new one.

I was curious so I did a count. I actually have:
24 versions of Batman (counting Bruce Waynes)
53 versions of Iron Man (counting Tony Starks)
37 Green Lanterns (5 of which are Hal Jordan)

That's quite a few.

I kneel before you, Zod. That's damn impressive. You are truly one of the action figure masters and belong in this thread. :bolian:

Whoops. Make that 25 Batmans. I just realized that I missed one.

EDIT: And 54 Iron Mans. I forgot the one in my Avengers display.

 Wait...DST already put out 3 different versions of the TOS tricorder with light up displays and authentic sounds. In fact they just re-released all of them.

Are you perhaps thinking of TNG? :vulcan:

You're correct. I am thinking of the Next Gen-era tricorders and not TOS. For some reason I thought they hadn't made a classic black tricorder in a while.

It's hard to keep track of a lot of these as the years pass. (*Blushes*)

I didn't bother with the "geological" tricorder, but I purchased both the science and medical models as soon as they were released. Like many buyers, I was a bit disappointed to discover AA had to cut corners with the medical handheld scanner, dropping the motorized spinning feature. It was ironic the scanner PlayMates released had a louder audio circuit. But other than that and the Munchkin pitch of the recorded voices (while the comm' voices sounded right), those props were, no, still are dand cool!

Sincerely,

Bill

I have thus far only two Batmen, but then as you guys know, I've only gotten back into collecting action figures fairly recently, and I'm still picky about the figures that I get :) I have no doubt that my collection will grow :)

Woohoo! Congrats, man. I can't wait to hear your first stories after you get her!

I thought I'd post this because they're the new Clone Wars figures no American store will be getting. Three are straight repacks with no changes whatsoever from their previous releases (Savage, Maul, Commander Cody) while the other six are either completely new or contain new heads or other body parts as well as paint applications.

I was actually looking forward to some of these but thanks to the staggering ineptitude of Hasbro the U.S. won't have a shot at any of these....not unless you spend insanely inflated eBay prices to get the Canadian or European figures.

Oh there shall be plenty of talking and picture taking, too. I do believe I promised some ass shots to make up for my Hawkeye insanity.

Rainy day game night for the Avengers!

"Motherfuckin' Simon!" Fury joins in.

Even Steve knows about dominoes...

"Oh, no! They're going to fondue in front of me!" Relax, Cap. It's just a shoulder rub. Tasha's tired.

I'm probably going to let Clint's eggs "hatch" earlier than planned (unless Loki kidnaps them again!). I have other stuff planned for Easter. Stay tuned!
