I'm a doctor, not a

While that is informative, I'm more interested in a humorous take. Less canon, more hilarity, if you will. In somewhat a similar vein [ahem] to the "five words" thread.

"I'm a doctor, not a vet!"

...upon seeing M'Ress enter the sickbay.

The appointment did not end well.

Sincerely,

Bill

"I'm a doctor, not a Family Feud contestant!" (Most common answers. "Society of Space Doctors said...")

^ I almost used 'humorist', but it felt too on the nose.

And 'comedian' had better rhythm, I could imagine it in Kelley's voice.

I always thought Kirk and McCoy's dialogue should have been reversed in "Star Trek II".

KIRK: Is that all you've got to say? What about my performance?

MCCOY: I'm a doctor, not a drama critic.

Good one. :bolian:

"I'm a doctor, not a computer programmer!"

(Dr. McCoy's response in anger with the medical computer malfunctioning and not dispensing the correct medicine he ordered.)

If I remember it right, there's an exchange in "Star Trek Rhapsody" that goes something like

McCoy: I'm a doctor--

Kirk: Not an actor!

McCoy: Not a MILKMAN.

Kirk: What does THAT mean?

I seem to recall another variant, one possibly from 70s-ish fanfic, and one possibly from Kelley himself.

"I'm a doctor, not an actor."
"I'm an actor, not a doctor."

Wasn't there a parody (can't remember what format -- film, prose, comic...?) wherein Kirk (or someone) indicates an injured man and tells McCoy to tend to his wounds. Bones then angrily says, "I'm a doctor, not a... oh, okay," then goes to tend to the man?

From SNL:

Kirk: "He's choking!"
McCoy: "I'm a doctor, not a...oh, okay, sure!"

@Sir Rhosis

That was from a Saturday Night Live sketch were the Enterprise was repurposed into a cruise line.
