Marvel planning Guardians of the Galaxy movie!

I don't know the first thing about Gardians of the Galaxy, but the idea of Chris Pratt headlining a superhero movie fills me with nothing but joy. :)

I'm not familiar with him, but I'm going to trust Marvel's judgment on this one. They've had great success with casting guys named Chris. ;)

Bwah, it's the loser boyfriend from Parks & Rec! :rommie: Quite a promotion for him to get the lead in a big Hollywood movie, beating out some big names, good for him!

Not heard of him... look him up on Wiki... oh yeah, I remember his scene with Anna Faris from Movie 43

Just throwing this out there: Do you think Marvel is crazy or willing enough to have a Howard the Duck cameo in a film like Guardians of the Galaxy, even it's just a "blink and you'll miss it" kind of thing?

I'm not familiar with Chris Pratt, but at this point I trust Marvel's casting choices enough to not worry about them casting people I'm not familiar with.

In the same manner as the E.T.'s in The Phantom Menace? Sure, why not? The movie is already going to have a talking racoon.

Why not, at least it would make sense. I'm not a HtD fan but a wink to those fans here, in this film, is ripe to happen.
Some populated alien planet with a bazaar or bar scene would be an easy place to drop in Howard.

Hell, while were at it, lets see some Shi'ar, Kree, Skrulls, Dire Wraiths, Kymellians and who knows what else in that bar scene as well.

I don't remember him from Moneyball.

He was Scott Hatteberg, the guy with the wife and young kids, who was switched from catcher to first base when he was recruited by the A's.

Speaking of Turtletrekker's mention of various Marvel universe alien species, would the Marvel Cinematic Universe be allowed to use the Shi'ar? I would assume they are considered X-Men characters. Maybe they fit into that gray area with Wanda Maximoff.

"Chris, welcome to the Marvel Films family! Oh look it's Cap and Thor.. ha ha."

"Hi Chris, I'm Chris. This is Chris."

"SOoooo Chris... latte?"

"Sure!" in unison

"I was talking to Chris."

"Sure!" in unison again,.

"The new guy."

Now if they cast Chris Pine, Chris Messina, Chris Rock, Chris Tucker, and Chris O'Dowd in some of the upcoming Marvel movies, the confusion will be perfect.

Not a follower of wrestling but other sites have posters calling him uncharismatic and wooden. Which, as others have said isn't far off from being Drax. Still, if they were going wrestler route I'd have preferred Steve Austin.

Not a wrestling fan either but that guy sure looks like he stepped off the page of a comic book without any further need for makeup or costume.

Some interesting competitors for the role - Isaiah Mustafa and Jason Momoa - I'd love to see both in some comic book role someday.
