Really? The Nasat's antennae prick up in excitement!

My copy had dispatched, so I'll be getting it very soon.

Thanks!

WOW! I don't bother with many TOS novels (least favourite era, and not keen on the stand-aloneness) but I did really enjoy the excerpt from this one so was pondering it, depending on reviews. But now I'm sold in a flash; off to order a copy!

Ok that is fascinating @ spoilers ... going to order this now ...

Is the <spoiler> just a throwaway reference or a plot point of the novel? I'm not much into the 5YM but I love continuity porn.

They are critical. The Ascendants in the mid-23rd century--or some Ascendants, at least--were actively hunting the Bajorans.

My interest level just jumped from 'Oh great - yet another bloody TOS 5 year mission story' to sort of interested...

Edit: just cancelled my 'we'll get it to you some time this year' order with Amazon UK and reordered it with The Book Depository who should get it to me in the next week...

Yeah, I think I might have to grab this one now, just for that little tidbit about the Bajorans.

It makes me wonder what other nods to the future AiE will have?

I'm glad I looked at those spoilers, because I also just went from "meh, another 5YM TOS book" to "must read!" :techman:

I like interconnected books and I like standalone books. So I pretty much buy all Trek books...

Just wish they still published some 24th century books set during the various TV series.

I'm also glad I read the spoiler. My interest was 0 (don't need another 5 year mission book), and now it is 9.
