So, you are comparing the real world to the Harry Potter world. That's what I thought. My post was a response to the premise; "Fictional Places to Avoid". If the thread title had been "Real Places To Avoid", or "Places to Avoid, Real or Fictional", given the amount of random violence on any given day here, I would have named "The Real World" as a place to avoid. But that wasn't the thread's purpose. Now, if you'd like to make a case for why the Harry Potter world is not a dangerous place, please proceed.
Old Runequest fans would know to steer clear of places like Snakepipe Hollow. Or any Thanatar, Thed, Malia, or Karsht temples.
Bowa-Seko and Leboa-Sakao... (the territories in Far Cry 2) Oh, and having used the word, The Territories (King/Straub)
^ The Territory in Joseph O' Connor's novel Redemption Falls is not a place I 'd like to visit, never mind live in.
- planet Pandora from the film Avatar (they hate humans) or the game Borderlands - the Death Star (rebels keep blowing them up) - Wolfram & Hart offices (bad things always happen here) - the brain slug planet from Futurama - Aperture Science Laboratories (the cake is a lie)
Hazzard County, GA. Corrupt law enforcement, corrupt civic leaders, criminals passing through the area. Questionable road service, inexplicable road construction leading to ramps, crashes and frequent bridge outages, one good place in the town to eat is dingy bar owned by formerly mentioned corrupt civic leaders. And there's a very high likelihood your car will be in a crash at some point. A lot of nonsense going on in that place that I think would make life there pretty frustrating.
