We've all got 'em, some use 'em, and some even collect 'em...

In this thread I suggest to those of us who collect emoticons that we can share them with each other.

P.S.: Please only post emoticons that look good on any background colour...

rather than this:

And, please, none of that white fluff left over from a bad removal of a white background.

Do feel free to post unfinished projects of you own, like this one of mine:

And anything you might have found since we last had one of these threads.

Where do you get all of those from?!

Around the net, threads like this one, tweaking something that exists to make a point of your own, make them from scratch... the possibilities are endless!

This, for instance,

MIBflash.gif

Is something I found somewhere and then made into a MIB-flasher emoticon.

Oh, you're gonna regret starting this thread.

I've long thought the BBS needed an Andorian version of this.

His hands have been glued to the window and he can't get them off!!!

Overall I like them, but there are a few that annoy me. I particularly hate  when it is used in response to another person's post (as opposed to a ridiculous news headline or something). It is just rude and childish.

It is simple, but I really like :D

^tweaking them is just (very) small scale photomanipulation -use PS or The Gimp or whatever you have.

Or you can draw them in whichever app you have to draw in.

Not sure if you'd really call this an emoticon, but it certainly works for some situations:

I love Smilies. I look at them as a modern revival of hieroglyphics.

Some of my favorites include:

hi.gif

Bye.gif

warn.gif

zombie.gif

And, of course:

BirthdayCake.gif

I've been drawing that one in birthday cards for decades. At some point it occurred to me to scan it and use it online, too. :rommie:
