I thought the same thing. While watching, I found the whole scenario a bit unbelievable--that someone that became that successful in his career was so fucking clueless. Then I remember the interwebz.
Check out the guys dressed as TNG characters in this week's episode: http://insidetv.ew.com/2013/01/07/the-big-bang-theory-star-trek-tng-photo Awesome.
Indeed [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNYl0TjWaq8[/yt] This week's episode is going to be very fun.
Well, Penny did, with Zack as Superman. It was on last night. Hubby and I still laughed, even though we were able to quote lines.
Funny how a tagline in a commercial can get someones knickers in a twist. **cough**RichJohnston**cough**
I think the costumes look too good, there are some very good cosplayers but most aren't and I doubt these 4 could whip up costumes like that, they almost look like they walked straight of the TNG set. It's impressive and I love that characters on one of the most successful network shows dress up in TNG costumes, but looking at it from an in-show perspective it's just unrealistic. When they dressed up before they all wore crappy costumes (Flash or the DC females in the wil Wheaton bowling episode), that fits the tone of the show much better.
Do you know they're supposed to be home-made? There are very good TNG uniforms available for purchase.
The Star fleet uniforms are easy to come by. That Borg getup, on the other hand, would take a lot of time invested.
Would it really? Raj is loaded. He has more money than the rest of the group, combined. If he wanted it, he could buy costumes directly from set. And he probably has.
Not really.. back in my day (way back ) i was considering buying a TNG uniform but the commercially available ones looked like crap and were not better than a good T-Shirt so i took a look at various fanboards and often enough found advice to have it tailored by a tailor which wouldn't have been more expensive that a normal suit off the rack in the store. Given what the guys spend on comics and merchandise (and i've seen some prices of it over the years.. they ain't cheap!) i don't believe it's past any of them to spring for a TNG uniform that way.
