Agreed. Here is how I'd rank the Avengers:

The Hulk > Thor > Iron Man > Captain America > Black Widow > Hawkeye

^^^No, English plurals are formed by adding -s or -es. Hence, ultimatums or octopuses, not ultimata nor octopi.
And English Rules, so that once a loan word, forever English!

^^^Fungi is technical jargon. And it may be scary to hear but I have indeed heard cactuses. Criteria is indeed the common plural, but does it count as a genuine exception? Or is it technical jargon too?

In any event, the -s/-es plural rule has exceptions, as all children know.

I'm not sure when it was finally decided, but no Latin or Greek grammatical rules are now held to apply to English. Also, common usage is privileged.

It varies. There are some that aren't even really Latin. The plural of Octopus shouldn't be Octopi because the Latin is borrowed from the Greek Octopous so the plural should be Octopodes.

Just a nice little heads-up. Tomorrow "Rifftrax" will release their riff on "The Avengers." Their other MCU riffs have been good (they've not done TIH or IM2, however) so I look forward to this one. Word from the cast seems to be they've spent a lot of time and work on this one.

If they thought that quote on the image was a fair representation of their own work... they must have the easiest job in the world.

MST3K. Concept: make fun of bad movies. Make Sense: does.

Rifftrax. Concept: make fun of good movies. Make Sense: not so much.

They still make fun of bad movies, though. But they also get plenty of blockbuster requests. Anyway, the full RT on Avengers is pretty decent, a lot of jokes making fun of Hawkeye's "usefulness" as part of the team. Other riffs they've done on good movies have been good, the riffing concept doesn't always have to be for bad movies.

    Full "sample" here: LINK

I wouldn't say it's one of their best blockbuster efforts, or even the best of the MCU movies they've riffed on, but it's still pretty fun to watch movies with these guys. :) $4 is worth it for that.

I highly doubt that's even legal, as they are clearly profiting from the work of others. I don't think that's fair use.

Sure it is; all the content - audio of lame jokes - are theirs. It's also parody, which is especially protected in IP cases.

They aren't reproducing any copyrighted material. It's legal. Derivative works consisting of commentary are Fair Use. Otherwise, movie reviews would be illegal! :wtf:

They're not doing anything illegal. They're simply making the commentary which you play along with your DVD of the movie.

What the heck is going on in this thread? I though MST3K, and by extension Rifftrax, was one of the ultimate sacred cows of nerdom. Where is all this hate popping up from? :wtf:

Everyone's entitled to an opinion, I doubt there are truly any sacred cows (besides, burgers are tasty).
