I also remembered something from Trekkies 2. Brannon Braga was being interviewed and he was discussing various fan mail he gets. One particular fan sent him a TNG script complete with storyboards where a giant alien crab attached itself to the Enterprise D which allowed it to operate underwater. Braga even comments "which I guess makes sense, given that crabs are aquatic creatures."

Apparently, Cumberbatch is there for a Sherlock promotion and it seems STID is sending everyone else along to push it too

Apropos of nothing, I don't think I've seen anything about this here, but Two Steps From Hell, the group that did the music for both STXI trailers has a new album out called "SkyWorld," which not only includes a remixed version of "Freedom Fighters" from the second trailer as a hidden track, but a song entitled "Starfleet" as well.

The song from the first STXI trailer was called "Down with the Enterprise," btw.

But I'm thinking that "Starfleet" will probably be in one of the trailers. . . and "SkyWorld" would be an amazing trailer song, too. . . if I remember this correctly, "Freedom Fighters" was purchased by Bad Robot so it couldn't be used in any other trailer. . .

Excellent, I didn't know a new album was out.
I love Two Steps From Hell and their music can make any trailer great.
Starfleet really sounds like Trek trailer material. I hope it's used.

What is wrong with a PG rating?

Although 8 of the movies were actually rated PG, I believe the PG rating has shifted over time in terms of content, and a PG-13 in terms of the next Star Trek movie will be equivalent to an old-style PG.

Let's put it this way... if it were rated PG-13, it could still be a PG movie. Not the other way around, and so I'd rather them err on the side of caution, so to speak.

I would think they probably need a PG trailer to be shown in theaters before PG movies. Making the trailer PG-13 would limit the movies to which it could be attached, and limit the potential amount of people who may see the trailer.

That's the Canadian Provincial rating system. It's loosely based on the MPAA but there are differences. They don't have PG-13. MPAA doesn't rate the trailers themselves (unless its redband) and hasn't rated this movie.

Yeah, Skyworld would be way better as the STID trailer song, mostly because Starfleet sounds very repetitive and feels like it should be background music for a scene.

It's not like you'll hear all 3 and a half minutes of it.
The trailer is 1 minute long and there will be some talking in there too cutting the music.

A trailer that is 1 minute long could be............I dont even know.thing is we won't see all the characters and there is still a good chance that Cummberbatch's charcater will still not be revealed.
