Star Trek :Into Darkness Trailer has been Rated.

Underwater?!? Bahahaha!

This is going to be glorious!
Floating water or vapors in space isnt stuff of science fiction anymore and am glad that Star Trek will now incorporate some fun and amazing stuff that we now know about the mysteries of outer space. :)

It's bad enough that Abrams has raped my childhood, now he's doing it under water.

Seriously though, the Delta Flyer did go under water too.

And ran into predictable pressure problems when attempting too great a depth. Enterprise should also be submersible but similarly subject to rather strict limitations of depth/pressure.

Let's see.... we've seen Trek ships go underwater before. The animated episode "The Ambergris Element" (as mentioned above) had the Aquashuttle, Voyager's "Thirty Days" had the Delta Flyer modified to go underwater and Enterprise's "Azati Prime" (and I think an episode or two before) had Xindi Aquatic and Insectoid ships go from space to underwater (where they were building their WMD) with no trouble whatsoever, and Enterprise modified a shuttlepod for the task too but IIRC never used it.

Although dramatically.... Iron Man 3's trailer was "Oooh, Iron Man's underwater!" and now Trek's doing the same thing (albeit with a 725m long, 500,000 ton starship)

I'd think pressurization would be major problem taking a half-mile long spacecraft underwater. But they'll probably doubletalk some explanation about the structural integrity field. Isn't helium sometimes used for atmosphere in submersibles? They might all start talking like the Munchkins.

Does anyone know about Pine, Abrams, Cumberbatch and Bryan Burk in Tokyo with trailer?

The movie is PG, So I am guessing its the usual. Mild Sex and a little bit of blood and average violence.

Not so different from the first film.

Where did you hear that it is PG?

Sorry I meant trailer but does it even matter? the movie is likely to be a PG.

Why do you think they would want to back away from the PG-13 of the first film? Is there a specific reason why you think they are going for a PG rating this time?

I think PG-13 is fitting for the type of movie Star Trek wants to be/needs to be.

If the Enterprise does go underwater, I hope they put a bit more thought into it than they did with that Xindi ship in Enterprise's Azati Prime. Seriously, the dialogue there is basically "this thing is designed to fly through a gas giant. It's only water, take a dive." At least with the Delta Flyer they mentioned having to do modifications.

Will it be their choice though?
Maybe they will crash and go under.

Which would be acceptable. Just as long as it's not something like.

Kirk: "Take us underwater, Mr Sulu."
Sulu: "Underwater, sir? You want to take this ship underwater?"
Kirk: "Why the hell not, we've flown through gas giants and nebulas. It's only water, take a dive."

If it's true that the Enterprise goes underwater in STID, I wouldn't be surprised if it's to hide the Enterprise for whatever reason like the Falcon hiding inside the asteroid in The Empire Strikes Back.
