Red Dwarf series 9 (or is it 10?) in 2012 confirmed by Craig Charles

Re: Red Dwarf series 9 (or is it 10?) in 2012 confirmed by Craig Charl

They're back on the Dwarf with Rimmer saying "Arnie saves the day again, just like some certain metal eating bug" then they all say "You can't be serious all you did was..." and then the guy from the start of the show points a gun at Lister and says "You kilt my brutha" cutting them off before they can say it.

I really liked that they pre-empted any reveal of how Rimmer saved them at the end of S8; it's much better as an unknown, much like we never really needed to see Maris in Frasier or Norm's wife in Cheers. Whatever they say now won't live up to the gag of us not knowing. :)

but this should have been a joke from the first episode of te series.

Not the last, because now it seems that they're reacting to critique with seconds to spare.

From the crew, the powers that be upstairs and even themselves.

I think you're seeing something that isn't there. This was Rimmer being heroic, so other times Rimmer was heroic came up for a joke.

Probably.

But if I didn't flex my imagination, I'd only be regurgitating shit that actually happened.

Blu ray out today, with 2 hour making of documentary. Picking mine up in a minute.

Not bought a Dwarf DVD or Blu Ray before, as I didn't like the fact they didn't do a boxset of the originals including the special features. But since Dwarf XI relies on this selling well, i'm gonna plonk down some cash for once.

I swear all the purchasing for Supermarket entertainment sections must be done by one middle aged housewife who buys nothing but Michael Buble CDs.

I didn't bother preordering it because I did not think there would be a problem getting something as popular as Red Dwarf off the shelf, but I have been to Asda, Tesco & Sainsbury's superstores today, and none of them are even stocking Red Dwarf X on Blu Ray. Two of them are stocking the DVD, but neither of them actually had one.

Wankers.

Probably have more luck at HMV, I believe they're carrying their own exclusive edition.

I got my bluray yesterday.

Haven't put it on though. I am a bit dismayed that cast commentaries are not listed but hopefully they are on there.

I am doing a rewatch and listen to the commentaries of the old series, I am on 4 just now.

I find the commentaries are quite enjoyable.

I love Red Dwarf commentaries.

From Psirens:

Robert Llewellyn: "Oh, she's gorgeous, isn't she?"
Craig Charles: "Alright, put it away, Robert...."

There are no commentaries. They rushed the Blu Ray out too fast I reckon.

That's a shame commentaries were always fun.

Red Dwarf X has finally got me convinced to upgrade to the DVDs for the rest of the series. It's been too long since I've enjoyed them via the medium of home video, especially given the Dave repeat cycle. I've ordered 1-6.

The question is, do I also get Seasons 7,8, and Back to Earth?

Um.

DVDs are on the cusp of being replaced, and anyone that thinks that a Bluray isn't a DVD is an idiot.

I have Red Dwarf X on Blu-ray!

If you can point me to links of the earlier series on Blu-ray, I'll validate what I think you're saying.

Anyway, to clarify, I'm upgrading from the eps I taped on VHS off TV back in the day.

I think what he's saying is discs as a format are going away and digital downloads and streaming are the way to go.

Our local Morrisons has it
