Agreed. Anakin Solo was really created as result of inconsistency between Dark Empire and Zahan's books . Also it be would confusing to have another character named Anakin.
Given the number of books and comics its inevitable there will be similar ideas in the new movies. Whether intentional or not.
Star Wars Episode VII: Son Of Skywalker. I think kids would relate to a new character just as much as they would Luke-- maybe moreso, since it would feel like it's "not their father's Star Wars."

I for one am excited for the new movies but I think that they should use the existing EU as a basis for ideas and character s and locations but not follow what has happened to the letter. As vor Hamill reprising Luke, its a good idea, using him as the age mentor, as obi wan was to him and a perfect resolution to his character.

Special dispensation from the DEA to adequately medicated herself the same as before for another Star Wars shoot. If the DEA folds, then Harrison is going to demand that he doesn't have to pay taxes for the rest of his life. Then, of course they'll all get free Disneyland for life too. Which has to be absolutely worthless to these really really old people who can't go out in public without being moshed. Although... The theory that Yoda isn't an alien so much as his physique have been bent and stressed by the force over the last 900 years could mean that if we start the movie 400 years after Jedi... Look would be CGI just like Yoda, and each movie a hundred years later than the last he would be shorter and Greener. That theory makes less sense now that we know that the Emperors body was not polluted and warped by the dark side of the force into the mess that we are familiar with. However... If metachlorines are some sort of hormone or enzyme, it should do the usual stuff imbalances of hormones and enzymes do other than magic space wizard powers. And as the metachlorine count increases so does the deformity.

It would have been another "Blue Harvest" if true, but oh well. It shouldn't be that long before principal photography begins, though...each of the three Prequels began shooting two whole years before they hit theaters(1997, 2000, 2003) and if that trend holds up for at least the first of the Sequel Trilogy films we could hear about the cameras rolling sometime next year.
