    From "Fusion":

It doesn't appear to me that Tolaris describe a "potentially dangerous act," so I wouldn't say that T'Pol willingly agreed to that. As far as she was told, it would be an "intimate" telepathic link involving mingled thoughts and memories.

So, to me, not only did Tolaris force her to continue despite her protest to stop, but he also misrepresented what he intended to do via mindmeld, i.e., using her memories to feed his creepy addiction to emotions. :ack:

^ See, that's where the contradictions come into play. "Stigma" makes it pretty clear that P'nar syndrome is universally known, feared and reviled, but how could that possibly be the case if melding is a forgotten technique? Which is itself a totally absurd idea, come to think of it.

So really, I guess I'm saying that both "Fusion" and "Stigma", while well-written and compelling eps on their own terms, should be considered non-canon. :p

Would a screening for this particular affliction have even been possible? As I understand it, it's a psychological disorder, not a physical aliment.

The psychological disorder is transmitted through the mind meld.

^ With Vulcans, there's often a blurry line between the two. (See also VOY, "Flasback".) "Stigma" suggests that it shows up in DNA scans...

Continuity wasn't one of Enterprise's strong points. They couldn't even keep their own stuff straight, nonetheless the stuff from the other four series.

I dunno if it's the long hair or the 60's TOS outfit, but something there just doesn't suit her and it's not Polly.

I liked the MU uniforms. They actually looked more... military like. Though the midriff cutting feature on the female uniforms, however visually appealing, was silly at best.

Meh, the MU is inherently silly, so that doesn't bother me.

You'd be surprised how... liberating a bit of Romulan Ale can feel for individuals whose synaptic pathways have been frayed by P'Nar Syndrome.
