Woman Misses Point of Deer Crossing Signs

A Fargo, ND woman phoned a radio call-in show to complain that deer crossing signs ought to be moved to lower traffic areas to reduce automobile-deer accidents. Apparently she was under the impression that the signs are there to direct the deer where to cross the road.

I wouldn't be surprised though if some do think the "deer crossing sign" is a genuine point where deer are "allowed" to cross.

I used to have a book on dumb 911 calls, and one of my favorites was a parent who asked if a police officer could be sent to scare her son into doing homework. Sadly, there are some people who are that dumb. And there are also urban legends that get passed around eternally.
