Have You Had Your Breakfast?

I try to have breakfast in the morning. Usually something light, like an egg, some bread and jam along with either orange juice or chocolate almond milk.

I eat something every morning, whether it be a big weekend breakfast or even just scarfing down some Greek yoghurt or a piece of toast while rushing out the door to head to work. It really is important to have something and really does help in weight management.

I'm surprised at how many people eat toast. I haven't owned a toaster in almost a decade, a fact which I didn't even realize until someone was recently staying over at my house. Crusty bread sounds like one of the least appetizing foods I could imagine for my breakfast.

I've been making myself eat breakfast, and it really seems to help give me energy in the morning. I usually have steel cut oatmeal with cinnamon and flax seeds on top. Sometimes I'll add fruit depending on what's seasonal, and the odd protein shake on a day after an intense workout.

Steel cut is just chopped rather than processed and has greater fiber content than rolled oats. It has a nuttier flavor (but takes longer to cook).

I really enjoy cereal, pastries, and waffles. I never can seem to finish a whole thing of milk though...

On my day off, I do omelets with potatoes and toast. When I'm working, I usually don't have time for breakfast (medication that I take in the morning requires that I wait 30 minutes after taking it) so I just eat a cereal bar or muffin while working.

Always. I keep it simple, usually eating one of 4 things...egg white and turkey sausage breakfast sandwich, carb bar, or both, and oatmeal and eggwhites when Im eating more carefully(like right now).

Never miss it. I often eat more For breakfast than supper. I consider it a barometer of the day to come. The best ones involve fruit, a littl protein and some whole grain stuff - love oatmeal! And bacon.

I try to most days. Generally it's a bowl of cereal and a glass of water. Also, yesterday I also brought some vitamin C tablets, which I forgot to take this morning.

I rarely had breakfast up until I was 22 or so. Then, I somehow decided that I should start a good habit and I've been having breakfast every day. It was not easy getting used to it as I had two problems: I felt more hungry during the day for a couple of months and I did not like warm milk (milk was part of my "good habit" plan).

Nowadays, I usually have a bowl of cereal with milk for breakfast. I like variety, therefore, sometimes a have a warm toast with cheese or a soft-boiled egg with some bread instead.

It isn't so much the toast (although whole grain toast does taste great) but what you are able to put on the toast. I am still a nut for peanut butter.

Mmmmm.....bacon. Good choice - and excellent on toast, too!!
