I got to feel a bit like that yesterday. Did KSN last night, right before I was going to bed, thinking it would be pretty quick. I thought Normal is easy enough that even with complete yahoos it wouldn't be so bad.

    Boy was I wrong.

Didn't start out so bad. Got rid of the tac cube in OK time. But it quickly devolved from there. For some reason we split up 2-2-1. Right there you know it's going to be trouble. So naturally it took quite some time to get the portals taken care of; didn't make the time cut-off, but at least no probes got through, of which I made sure. I was fine with that - I have had zero luck with getting any of the bonus items lately anyways (hey, let's make a bonus everyone has to work hard together for, and then a max of only three people get something!).

I figured that once everyone was together, Donatra would be pretty simple. One of the group even had the Klingon lifetime ship. Naturally, it wouldn't be so easy, or I wouldn't be writing this. Seems no one but me even knew about the 5k rule. I told them once that became apparent, but didn't seem like anyone listened. After a couple more cloaks I told them again, and one person actually got it. Still didn't seem to help. Still weren't able to kill her until she decided to target me, which she kept up as I kited her for a few minutes (by the way, no one seemed to have anything to anchor/slow her besides tractor beams), and everyone else was able to stay far enough away and pound her.

I think it took about 40 mins in the end. Felt like the only person with half a brain in the group. I still feel like a noob a lot (why I still play normal STF), but that game I was the one with the big boy pants.

Was a lot better than that KGN earlier where I got lost...twice...and probably cost us the bonus:thumbdown:

A lot of people either don't know the 5km rule or worse, mistakenly thinking all ships must be 5km away from Donatra. Either way, most groups end up circling around her ship and are forced to attack all shield facings. The truth is, Donatra only cloaks when she gets within 5km of her single aggro target.

Really good groups that know the actual 5km will have one Cruiser with high Threat Control designated as Main Tank (usually abbreviated to MT). The MT's role is to establish aggro and kite Donatra. The rest of the group will wait a few seconds before following Donatra and as a group whack on her rear shield. Typically it takes no more than 1 minute to take down Donatra using this tactic and the best I have seen can take her down in 20-30 seconds.

First look at the new sector block coming in Season 7 next month.

17 new systems, 13 of which have new missions. One new Exploration Cluster, the Azure Nebula. Advancement of the Romulan plotlines. Among the notable systems included:

Narendra. Acamar. Galorndon Core. Suliban. Khitomer. Nimbus.

With Khitomer, perhaps that means the Ambassador is not far behind. And the possibility of getting to shoot Suliban in the face.

Ooops, Azure Nebula is not an exploration cluster. Sorry.

The Enterprise-C was lost at Narendra III not Khitomer, still you got the neighborhood right.

So do we get to go to Nimbus III?

Also if the new Romulan capital is Rator III why is there a New Romulus?

That's actually really cool. I was wondering when the next time they would make a new sector would be. And looks like maybe a new starbase, too. Would be nice if it had full facilities, so everyone and their mom wouldn't be at ESD or DS9, but I doubt it.

That only works if you have a cruiser on the team. Even running STFs with people from the EliteSTF channel, I still get all escorts or escorts and a carrier* more than I get mixed teams with a cruiser, a couple science, and the rest escorts. An escort can hold aggro at that distance, but they're too easily whacked out of the sky.

I need to level my engineer and build a tank with her (won't work with my current level 50 tactical). I just don't want to play through the episodes again, and it's taking forever otherwise.

*I really do not like carriers in STFs. The pets are nearly invisible, and the sheer numbers of them lag the game on my end. And then there's the one Infected Space where the carrier's pets blew the optional...

I thought Cloaked Intentions established that Sela's de facto power was limited to Rator and the surrounding systems. With her gone it's possible the Rator government has fallen to infighting.

That's configurable. You can turn on target reticles and health bars for pets. You really should do this at least for NPCs, as it will enable to you see mines before they're bouncing off your shields, but you can do it for nearby PCs as well.

Oh I did that already. :D I still find fighters annoying because of the lag.

Never seen one of those before. Don't think it's a player ship.

    Also, heh:

This, when there were several for under 20 EC (I bought all of them).

    That's the original Federation Dreadnaught.

I don't think it spawns anymore in NPC groups.

The sector version of Battlegroup Omega must be the only instance left where is shows up (outside of foundry missions maybe).

Since the Galaxy X was added to the game it has replaced the old one.

For me, the best way to earn ec is to work on doff assignments, focus on unlocking assignment chains as some of them will unlock additional assignments that give valuable rewards.

What's the best way to get Antiproton ship weapons? Given that I don't have tons of time to play and they're 22.6k dilithium each, it'll take me months to get 'em that way... should I try to earn enough EC for them in the exchange, or should I be trying STFs?

You could always BUY dilithium for zen on the Dilithium Exchange. That's the quickest way.

I regretted buying weapons with dilithium. Especially after doing a few STFs and realizing that it was faster to buy them with salvage from those missions.

I wonder if they ever rebuilt the New Providence colony on Jouret IV?
