X-MEN: Days Of Future Past (Casting, Rumors, Pics till release)

No. We don't know anything about any new characters yet. Bryan Singer stated last year after First Class came out and before we knew the sequel was going to be called Days of Future Past, that we would see one or two new characters. This might have obviously changed since then though.

Has there been any indication if we will see Rachel Summers (Grey) in the movie?
I think that would probably depend on whether or nor we're going to get a young Cyclops and Jean Grey. I doubt they would introduce their daughter before they introduced them into these movies.

Here's is something that might piss fanboys off-- what if in the end instead of invalidating X3, the X-Men in DoFP have to make sure that the X3 time-line comes to pass in order to save the world?

They managed to introduce Havoc several decades too early. I wouldn't put it past them.

What about x3 screams no master Mold and no Mutant registration act?

Gods, that fake-out in the Danger Room couldn't have been a review of the X-Men's greatest hits where they destroyed the last Sentinel factory on the planet?

What was the final fate of the architect of that fiendish legislation, Senator Robert Kelly?

Lets just recall in the comics that he s being manipulated by Sebastian Shaw the whole time because he wanted to sell the US Government half assed Sentinels that even the original call of the New Mutants could dispatch.

I guess you could have a point there. Although introducing someone's brother before you introduce them isn't quite the same as introducing their daughter first. I guess there are ways they could make it work though.

^I think it's fair to say that in this continuity, it's *very* unlikely that Havoc will turn out to be Scott's brother. His father though...

Still, assuming the "future" part of the new film takes place after the events of X3 I can't see how Scott and Jean could have a daughter. Even ignoring 'The Last Stand' the ending to X2 rather precludes that eventuality.

I'm pretty sure that Singer and Vaughn stated that Alec Summers is indeed Scott's brother...just simply older, which kind of isn't a big deal. The Rachel Grey thing is going to be a hard thing to explain away, unless they just make her Hope or something.

Really? That's a bit hard to believe. Think about it for a second, Alec is in his late teen in the early 60's, that means he would have to have been born in the early to mid-40's. Scott on the other hand would have been in his early 30's in "the near future" which let's assume is about a decade after the first film came out (now-ish?) so Scott could have been born around the late 70/early 80's. That's a nearly *40 year* age gap! Not impossible, but it strains believability somewhat.

Oh this discussion happened in the First Class thread, and the news thread before it. I understand fans concern with regards to Alec. Perhaps there are...Sinister goings on...with the Summers family :)

I really think that would be the best way to go about this. I think that at this point I'd rather see it as a separate continuity so we don't have to worry about how things line up with the others.

I just take FC as a different universe and move on, myself...

Actually, I rather like the fact that the producers are trying to get things to fit. I'm fed up of this "oh, let's just reboot" constant mentality. Spiderman, Fantastic Four etc...

Respect to Singer and all involved if they can make this one, huge wonderful saga.

PS - I must be the only person in the world who DOESN'T hate "The Last Stand"? I don't think it was as good as 1 or 2 - it was far too short, for one thing, and crammed too much in - but I don't outright hate it. It's fine.

Things will just go to **** if Singer tries to do what he did with "Superman" and say "these old movies count, these ones don't" etc.
