The theme song is just atrocious

It is really dumb and always a bit jarring on a watch through until you adjust.

I don't think a theme song has ever impacted by enjoyment of a TV show nor do I think it has to match the "tone" of the show. TOS had this weird pop jazz type theme that wouldn't be out of place in a Vic Fontaine concert.

My least favorite theme is the TNG one. VOY is thrilling, DS9 is epic, TOS is nostalgic, ENT is a blast and TNG is redundant.

Haha, that's exactly what I was thinking of Homn... that theme really is more suited to a cheesy super hero movie, scifi setting or not.

Don't get me wrong, I liked it... just not for Picard and crew.

It could have worked as the theme, after all we are judging it after hearing the TMP theme used for years as the TNG theme. So that can distort our perceptions of it.

I think people who moan about Enterprise's theme never sat all the way through DS9's opening sequence. Must have always fallen asleep. Look, the opening of any show has to be taken as a whole. Consider the theme as paired with the images and Enterprise's opening sequence was very well made.

I am proud to say I have sat through it every single time, that's with four complete watch throughs. It actually still gives me the chills.

The only positive upside to Faith of the Heart was how it became a running gag on various Whiskey Media podcasts about ten years later.

A real shame, too... the opening visuals are fantastic, probably my favourite of all five Trek series. Just, that song, man... that song...

I think the voyager theme is the best out of all, I like the revamped DS9 theme better than it's original version though.

And the enterprise theme is great. I have it on playlist with all my other tracks.
