Rumor: Trek 2013 tidbit

The Excesior?? Isnt that, like, 30 years early in-universe?

No, I think the collector series probably includes ships from multiple eras of Trek. Since two of the ships mentioned in that sentence are separately specified as being from the new 2013 movie, that probably means the Excelsior, which doesn't get that specification, is not from the new movie but is the familiar one from ST III/VI.

That's how I interpreted it too.

Uss Excelsior NCC-2000? Peter Weller as Styles or Cumberbatch? Huuummmm

Will these Hot Wheels ships be around the same size as the ones released during the last movie?

Just curious.....
IIRC, those were also sold as "1/50 scale" (or 1:50) so these will probably be about the same size.

Hot Wheels claim of of 1:50 Scale can not be right though. For instance, the Polar Lights/Round 2 Enterprise is 1/350 scale is something like 32" long. That means at 1:50 Scale the Enterprise-A would be about 21 feet long. There's no way these are 1/50.

No, but everyone should probably have remembered that already, from the last time around.

Per Memory Alpha, referring to the 2009 collection:
Each ship is said to be in 1:50 scale (in reference to collector automobile scales), measures from ten to seventeen centimeters in length, and is packaged with an adjustable plastic stand.
I'd expect the new batch will likely be in the same size range as these were, regardless of the scale figures cited.

I'm betting that Joseph Gatt is a Klingon.
I had him down for nuKhan myself. Providing the movie's cliffhanger ending.

A Hunt for the Botany Bay. Feds and Klingons. One out to secure a threat, based on info Spock provided. The other searching for a cure to a disease ravaging the Empire.

A third party, Peter Weller's corporation, with him having his own agenda for getting to Khan first.

** ...and then I woke up, realising I'm not actually the one writing the screenplay! :p

I get 19 feet. 947/50 = 18.94.

How about a 19-foot Enterprise motorboat? You could ride around in the lake pretending to be travelling through space.

They might be referring to the Armstrong type starship USS. Excelsior NCC-1729? Which was mention in the book, but not in the movie itself. Also there suppose to be a model of the ship itself. It was one the ships that Nero destroyed.

Weller is not Captain Styles; he's Commodore Decker of the Constellation.

Cumberbatch is Trelane, pulling a Q and masquerading as a human but unlike Q, doing it covertly to study humanity.

The "Armstrong type" ship was the U.S.S Armstrong. There was no ship labeled the Excelsior in the movie.

I'd ask you for a source, but I'm guessing you just made that all up.

Orci talked to Trek Movie about guest actors and theirs characters.

Alice Eve - Canon
Noel Clarke - New
Nanzeen Contractor - New
Peter Weller - New

I did; just having a little conjectural fun. I also enjoy stating things as if I know them as fact.
