X-MEN: Days Of Future Past (Casting, Rumors, Pics till release)

Re: X-MEN: First Class sequel (Casting, Rumors, Pics till release)

‘The Hobbit 3′ Scheduled For July 18, 2014

I have to say, this was a real dick movie by Warners. They are a bunch of bullies. What chance does X-men have against the final Hobbit movie and final part of the LOTR saga? Hobbit 3 would have done great ANY TIME of the year! :wtf:

FOX won't want to play chicken by having their movie still be released on the same date. The question now is, where are they now going to move this thing to on the calender?

If Fox is confident with "X-Men: Days of Future Past" as they seem to be, they don't have to move it anywhere. I'm kind of surprised Warner and MGM didn't just keep the traditional December scheduling. 2014 is still pretty open in terms of dates so if Fox does decide to move X-Men there are plenty of options. I'm not concerned about this at all.

Yeah, that is really bizarre. FIVE LOTR related movies released in December and then the last in the middle of Summer? WTF? :wtf:

Warners needs to put Hobbit 3 in December where it belongs.

It better. I hate it when stuff I'm anticipating as much as these two come out the same day. I try not to go to the movies unless it's something I really want to see, and it's aggravating when I get two things on the same weekend, while there are whole months in the other part of the year when there isn't a single thing I want to see coming out.

Amen to that.

Yeah, they don't want Hobbit 3 to be remembered the way Matrix 3 is remembered.

You release two sequels within roughly half a year, you're gonna piss people off.

"Sequel Overload" only happens when you see a trailer and your response goes from "Ooh, another one!" to "Ugh, another one?"

^Indeed. I don't recall being realised six months after part 2 did 'Back to the Future Part 3' any harm. Or Kill Bill Vol 2 now that I think about it.

There's a world of difference between a studio pooing out sequels just for the hell of it and releasing multiple instalments in a series. Especially when the films are shot back-to-back and the audience are fully expecting several films before they even see the first one.

The Matrix sequels are a particularly poor example because...well, they were rubbish. Waiting an extra six months to see 'Revolutions' would not have improved matters.

Co-creator Bob Gale said he wishes it had been advertised as a trilogy. The way its done now. A lot of people felt surprised and cheated that their was no ending for part 2.

Of course it was a very different time. While it was known to fans a Part 3 was being made and would be out soon. Part 2 was not promoted as the second part of a trilogy. But if they were made now it would be.

Really? I've always loved the ending to part 2. The letter, the reprise of the clock tower strike (they *really* got their money's worth out of that sequence!) topped off by a trademark Lloyd freak-out? Classic.

Anyway, didn't a trailer for part 3 *immediately* follow the TBC? Anyone who complained clearly wasn't paying attention...and were ungrateful since they'd just got to see one of the best and most elaborate time travel story every committed to film. Seriously, how many other movies have actually time travelled back into another film...besides these guys? ;)

Maybe complain is not the right word. I would have to look it up. He mentions on the DVDs that he thinks Universal should have promoted the 2nd and 3rd film differently. Also that the Part III's box office was hurt by such a short window. That a year wait would have been better.

I love the ending of Part II as well. I remember as I kid when I heard they were making a Part III right away, I had the idea that both would be shown at the same time.

Kill Bill wasn't a part two.

They just cut a really long movie in half so they could charge people twice.

If they had cut it into four movies then they would have made four times as much.
