Love the dramatic clouds here. So ominous! Cool contrast with the blue sky and the building silhouettes below. Love the tones and mood of this photo. Great framing, too! This ... this is the perfect shot. Scenic, peaceful. Love balance between foreground and background, too ... The Taconic Parkway is such a scenic drive (provided it isn't snowing/raining). One of these days I'm going to have to go exploring the park itself. Great shot! I really like the watery reflections.
^I love the Rockies, and Lake Louise, and you captured them really well. So nice to see it without all the snow for once!
The Rockies are beautiful, whether they're in the U.S. or Canada! Admittedly, they're a little more majestic in Canada.
Yes, Ruaidhri has always been an upstanding poster and I should have said so in my reply. I was just trying to offer an opinion as to why boco would feel slighted by his comment even though it was clearly a friendly poke in the ribs.
Heh ... Citifield ... a wretched hive of scum and villany ... the cantina is pretty nice, though! Another shot from my most recent visit to the Met:
Beautiful pictures, I can't express how amazing they are. The mountains and the butterfly...just amazing shots of nature.
Ruaidhri, you did a great job of explaining things and it's now clear you didn't mean any harm. I hope boco can see that and things settle down back to normal. Mimic, terrific photos! I've never given the Canadian Rockies much thought, but now I'm intrigued. Very majestic looking. Reminds me a lot of the Alps.
What a lot of lovely places you people have been to this holiday season -well, the pictures you choose to share here are lovely! I went to a 'medieval-thing' with a friend and her son on his school this Saturday. He immediately took the chance and got a picture of his mum in a hard to get out of situation: And she soon got him back with the help of a couple of his class-mates:
Had a great weekend... and fun nights out with my best friend, Sarah and my cousin, Nate. Me and Nate. He is 34 and single... I wanna set him up. Anyone? (Men only.) Drunk smoochies. Six Side Die. Met them, and as you can see, Sarah is not shy....
Taconic State Park is not far from where I live. It's a nice place to go for a picnic or a walk, and the dog loves the water. Those Canadian Rockies pics look just like the ones I took on a roadtrip through there years ago. I have almost the exact same shots. Lovely area. I took this one in the Detroit airport yesterday while I was on a layover coming home from a conference. it's this tunnel between concourses. They have a light show on the walls and ceiling, and this trippy ambient music playing. I got a good video of it too.
