Greatest Physical Pleasure

Other than sex (anything sexual) or food (drink included).

-Having someone else wash your hair.
-Peeling dried glue off your hands.
-When you can breathe through your nose again after having a cold.
-The way your bed feels when you first wake up, especially if you don't have to get up.
-And for the ladies, taking off your bra after a long day at work. Well, not that some fellas aren't sporting bras too, and I'm sure some of you even look fabulous in them (I'm looking at you, Christopher Meloni in that scene in Oz), but I doubt the feeling of release is as intense as it is for ladies.

What would you add?

Hot shower after whatever form of sport or workout... Ah, the muscles feel sooooo much better then.

Running. Or any strenuous physical exercise, actually.
Oh definitely, but personally I'd qualify that as strenuous aerobic exercise after ten minutes (usually about ten minutes in my muscles stop protesting) and through the following 40 minutes (because the last ten minutes they start protesting again and I just want to stop).

I nominate making it to the bathroom after you've been holding on for an abnormal amount of time.

^The most recent flight I took from Seattle to NYC, the plane's lavatories stopped working about an hour in. Mind you, this is a six hour flight. The crew asked passengers not to go, except in case of emergency, and to know that if they did go, the toilets wouldn't flush. Well, you can imagine how many full bladders there were when we got to JFK. We taxied to the gate and you could feel the tension (not just in your bowels). Just as they were about to open the plane door the power failed, and we were stuck for another 5 minutes while they tried to get it back on. I'll tell you, I've never seen a plane empty so fast in my life.

the feeling of the first swallow of ice-water running down the esophagus on a hot day
back scratches
knuckle cracking
those giant beer-burps that feel like you're deflating
simply listening to rain, or at least http://www.rainymood.com/
lying on your back in a pile of fresh white snow
the smell of a campfire
the motion of a hammock

When I was a kid, I'd wear my socks all day long until bed, so when I took them off in bed, the firs new t thing my feet would feel all day long was the cool sheets.

Being surrounded by the thrum of the bass and tweet of the treble when listening to a favorite piece of music.
One of my personal favorites is from the Thomas Newman "Wall-E" soundtrack, "Eve".

or, even better, "The Axiom" from that same soundtrack. Play THIS on a high end system:

It just feels really good.

  • Going to the bathroom :rommie:
  • Taking a hot shower after working out or doing something strenuous
  • Sleeping in whenever I can
  • Listening to relaxing or meditative music (e.g., classical)
  • Getting a back massage
