The Dark Knight Rises Anticipation Station

I have generally never seen the point in a novelization of a movie. Except for something like 2001 where after the movie your going :wtf: to the ending.

^Greg said his novelization is amazingly close to the movie. Apparently the script he was given was followed pretty closely by Nolan.

Is that one of those novelizations that end right in the middle of the movie? Too many movie novelizations have done that over the years, the latest was The Avengers. It pisses me off so much because it ends up being a complete waste of time.

I never heard of such a thing.

The ROTS novelization totally leaves out Kashyyyk, though.

Read the reviews on Amazon. It’s a prequel that’s being mistaken by some for a novelization, eliciting angry negative reviews when it turns out not to cover the complete film.

Reading level: Ages 8 and up. :cardie:

Well you heard of it now, Set Harth. Don't imply I'm making shit up.

No, instead you just read a prequel and assumed it was a novelization and somehow took this out on the book as opposed to realizing you made a mistaken assumption.

Unlike you, I've actually read the book.

The first 75% of the book is prequel material, but the last 25% is the Avengers story. It ends right after Loki is captured and put in the cell.

I wouldn't have a problem with it if they didn't advertise the thing as the novelization of the movie.

There is a big Avengers cover. The back of the book's summary is about the gathering of the heroes and about fighting Loki. Also the book is full of pictures from the Avengers movie.

Talk about misleading!

Dude, the book is called "The Avengers Assemble." It doesn't even have the same title as the movie. They gave you the story they intended to give you.

So, what, a person only gets 20 minutes to reply to something these days? Smugness is not an attractive characteristic. I didn't reply right away because it was midnight and I went to bed.

I just don't care about this argument. You bought a book that turned out differently than you expected. Boo-frickin-hoo.

EMH I might have to apologize...I think you could be correct about that specific from the trailer piano cue being absent from the score. I don't hear that specific one, but there is fantastic piano music from the trailer in the score.

I'm just messing with you, RoJoHen. :p

Oh, I didn't buy the book. I did skim through it a while back at the store because I was curious.

Okay, good. I was beginning to think I was going crazy because I relistened to the track you suggested it was in and it didn't sound anything like that piece. I saw the film again last night I definitely didn't hear in the film.

Which leads me to as again, what is that piece from?

Oh it's a junior novel.

Junior or not, they should give us the WHOLE story.:rommie:
Did they do a second one covering the other half maybe? I noticed that some of the stuff I've seen for movies like Avengers seems to only cover certain elements of the story. I'm not sure if that includes the YA novelizations though, most of those seem to be the stuff geared towards younger kids.

I believe the piece is from Hans score because it sounds so close to Selina's theme...but not just featured in the commercial release. That'd be my best guest. Most of the music from the trailers is all in the score. This is kind of why everyone's already been hoping for a complete score leak soon lol.

Dream, I find it hilarious that you’re so upset about being duped into wasting your time reading a book whose target audience wasn’t even born when you registered for this board.
