A call out to all model builders - I need parts!

I've undertaken a pet project that I hope you will all enjoy: I'm in the process of building replicas of most of the kitbashed ships built for Deep Space Nine. I've bought several model kits on eBay in an effort to recreate these ships and to be as accurate as I possibly can to the original models. Because I'm only an amateur modeler, they won't look like television-quality filming models, but because most of them were built by people who weren't professional modelers anyway, this kinda works out ;) Also, I'm giving them paint schemes to more accurately portray an actual Starfleet vessel, as opposed to the slapdash paint jobs they originally had. I've been in contact with several of the original builders such as Adam Buckner and Dan Curry, and they've helped me immensely with reference photos and information.

Three of the ships are completed, but I still have several to go. Here's the rundown:

1. U.S.S. Centaur - completed
2. U.S.S. Curry - completed
3. U.S.S. Bradford - completed
4. U.S.S. Yeager - in process
5. U.S.S. Hutzel - don't have sufficient parts
6. U.S.S. Elkins - don't have sufficient parts
7. U.S.S. Jupp - don't have sufficient parts

I realize that a lot of you modelers out there tend to accrue a lot of extraneous parts from kits, and this is basically a shout out to you. Here's what I need:

Hutzel - Excelsior saucer top
Elkins - Voyager saucer and a 1/32 scale F-14 Tomcat
Jupp - Enterprise-A nacelles, bridge, impulse engine, and four window inserts; Voyager warp pylons

I can always buy a Voyager and an F-14 kit on eBay if no one has their parts, but I'd rather not have to buy them if I don't have to, or another Enterprise-A kit just for the few parts I need for the Jupp. If anyone has what I'm looking for, PM me and we can work out payment/shipping, etc. (or if you need parts too we can work something out)

Thanks!:)

As I said, I could always buy a Voyager, F-14, and Enterprise-A kits to get the parts I need (and basically ditch the Ent-A parts I already have). This is basically just a call out to other modelers who might have the specific parts I need so I don't have to do that :)

I'd suggest just buying them. There's not much left a Voyager without the saucer, so who'd have an extra lying about? Plus when you get a whole one, boom! You got your pylons, too. Enterprise-A might give a bit better luck, but the impulse engine is molded with the top of the saucer (unless you just mean the back part of it) so, still, I doubt you'll have a lot of luck finding spares of that either.

Same thing for the F-14. You'll need most of it for what you're doing, so I suggest you just go out and find new kits for each.

...but the impulse engine is molded with the top of the saucer (unless you just mean the back part of it)...

Yeah, that's what I meant. I bought a very cheaply priced Ent-A kit for the Jupp's saucer and nacelles, but a) I ended up using the nacelles on the Bradford, and b) the seller neglected to tell me that the bridge, impulse engine and several window inserts were missing. But you're probably right; it might be more logical just to buy those three kits. The problem is that the Voyager model is ridiculously hard to come by these days, and the very few that are there are pricey (the one I'm using for the Yeager was NOT cheap). The 1/32 scale F-14 is also pricey for some weird reason.

Heck, maybe later I'll just bash the hell out of that Ent-A saucer and make it the Olympia... :)

Update: I got an F-14 kit on eBay for 30 bucks (the Revell kit, which was what I believe Judy Elkins originally used; the newer Tamiya kits are ridiculously expensive...)

I'm debating whether to use the Voyager saucer I already have for the Elkins, or just continue building the Yeager as originally planned.

I'm going to wait on the Jupp until I can find another super-cheap deal for an old Star Trek IV Voyage Home Ent-A. However, if anyone happens to have an Excelsior top lying around I'd still be interested in it for the Hutzel.

^ All Tamiya kits have always been ridiculously overpriced. Having worked in a hobby shop through the the 80's & 90's, that's something I distinctly remember.

I have an Ent-A I bought off ebay, that had been built and had come apart, that I planned to use for parts. Let me dig it out & see what condition the parts are in & if they could be gotten apart without damaging them.

Dukhat, I don't have enough posts to send a PM yet, so please send me a visitor message with your email address, and we can talk. I think I can help you out with the rest of your list.

Hey there, sorry, I didn't see your post until today. Turns out that thanks to Ar-Pharazon, I got all the Ent-A parts I needed for the Jupp, minus the Voyager pylons. I was able to order a Voyager model kit from an online model retailer, so unless you have a Voyager saucer and pylons that I can use, I probably won't need that anymore unless I return the model. But I still need an Excelsior saucer top.
