Seriously, if they go "armor stored in his bones", I'm out.
Really, that's the dumbest element when it comes to the Extremis idea. I'll... "accept" that a under-suit is "stored in the hollows of his bones" that allows him better and quicker use of a physical, metallic, suit but the entire suit itself being stored in his bones? Ehhhh way too much for me to suspend my belief on.
It certainly looks sleeker than the Mark VI used the Avengers movie.
Don't you mean the Mark 7? the second armor Tony wore after his Mark 6 was damaged by the Helicarrier blades.
Closer up look at the Mark 8

A little ahead of it's time perhaps but such technology isn't hard to believe at all for the near future.

Yeah, the ability to keep metal in your bones and excrete it through your pores by sheer force of will doesn't really strike me as something that's going to happen any time soon.
I do not will my food to be digested. My digestive system has been designed over many years or evolution to do it on its own.
The neurokinetic user-controlled morphologic nanoparticle bundles that form the suit reside in Stark's body, and form a fibrous wetweb of iron and platinum,https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Man's_armor#cite_note-IronManV5.2330-13 that can be commanded to form any type of structure upon Stark's skin, such as large boxing gloves,https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Man's_armor#cite_note-14 or weapons, including large guns extending from his arms or a lightsaber-like energy sword with which Iron Man was actually able to harm one of the Worthy during the 2011 "Fear Itself" storyline.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Man's_armor#cite_note-15 The nano-machines can even mimic the appearance of clothes, and then dissociate to transform into the Iron Man armor whenever Stark wishes. The suit adds less than twenty-five pounds to Stark's body mass, and can stop a howitzer shell.
The armor and Stark's own transhuman body are powered by the high-yield arc reactor mounted in his chest. The high output of the arc reactor has greatly augmented Stark's intelligence and provided him superhuman-level multitasking and learning capabilities.
Unlike earlier armors, this new armor does not appear to rely on motors and servos for motion. Instead, the nano-machines create a secondary artificial musculature over Stark's body, upon which additional rigid structures are assembled. This also enables the armor to self-repair and be almost invulnerable, as the armor is capable of transforming and healing itself as long as the power output from the arc reactor is not interrupted or terminated
I read that already, do you know how much that amount of platinum, iron, silver etc would weigh? Tony would be physically unable to move and the constant effort of the Extremis to stop his body from being poisoned would keep it busy 24/7.
Nanomachine handwaving doesn't really cut it.

Having some of the endo-portion of the suit go wrong, or deliberately having some connections to the suit surgically added in a believable manner maybe, but using Mariners colourful way of saying it, him just shitting the armour on command in some fashion, no.
Well, bones are hollow and porous for a reason, so there is room for marrow. The mass of the nanites has to be minimal to allow for continued biological functioning. If the resulting underwear is a micron thin and functions just as an extension of the nervous system it would be barely believable. I wouldn't consider it the "near" future, though.A little ahead of it's time perhaps but such technology isn't hard to believe at all for the near future.
As for the new suit...badass...
