Bill Shatner loses his pants at airport

This story was to delicious to not post. I've never met Shatner but from what I've heard he could use some humility.

Here in Atlanta I recently went on a tour of the Walking Dead and the tour guide who is a Zombie on the series regularly and an extra on sci-fi TV was saying that Bill Shatner was the worst celeberity he ever delt with. Apparently at a autograph signing contest Bill won't even look up at the the guy to personalize his autograph, wouldn't even acknowledge his presence yet the signing and photo cost a whopping $75.

Any stories about Bill and his rudeness? And the story below is hilarious.

Star Trek legend William Shatner was left nursing a bruised ego when his trousers fell down during an airport security check in front of dozens of fellow travellers.
The actor was queuing at Los Angeles International Airport to catch a flight to South Africa when he was singled out for a search by officials.
He had decided to wear loose-fitting clothing for the journey and did not have a belt holding his pants up - and he was left red-faced when they fell down, exposing his underwear.
Shatner says, "It was awful to have people looking at me with my pants down, probably the most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to me... It was a long flight so I wanted to wear loose clothing because I didn't want anything to bind me."

So what you're telling me is that you're thrilled over the fact an 81 year old man dropped his pants?

Aaaand we're done here.

Head on over to the aforementioned link for all your Shat pants dropping goodness.

ETA: Never mind. Didn't know the other one is closed.

Carry on.

:wtf:

Oh, come on now.

This is the guy that did "Kingdom of the Spiders", "TJ Hooker" and "Star Trek V".

I said it in the other thread...why single Shatner out for a search? Everyone knows who he is, and everyone knows he's not a terrorist.

I'm sure they're just trying not to seem biased. But could it be something else?

Gotta keep an eye on Shatner. Years ago he freaked out on a flight. Claimed there was "something on the wing of the plane."

All these posts (and I read the rubbish in the other thread too) and not a single joke about Kirk always looking for an excuse to lose his trousers, no references to operating under sealed orders, not even a question about whether they ripped his shirt too?

Are we no longer trekkies?

(And yes, I feel sorry for the guy. But I still want to know what colour/design undies)

I must admit that I don't really feel sorry for him. He has rather a reputation for being rude and mean both to fans and to his co-stars and the crew.
Does anyone remember the scandal when they shot "Generations"? Shatner kept bullying and humiliating Marina Sirtis until all the TNG crew jointly threatened to quit if he didn't stop it.

On the other hand I'm really glad I wasn't at LAX then. I can think of less disturbing views than an old man publically displaying his unmentionables.
I wouldn't totally put it beyond him to have done it as a publicity stunt, though.

I don't see what his reputation has to do with this incident.
