Brent Spiner Joins Warehouse 13

How's Artie being Jewish relevant to anything? Do we actually *know* that he's Jewish? I know he's a TV character so it's generally assumed, but.....?

dJE

^^ He's a Russian Jew by ancestry, per his backstory in prior episodes.

Well, I'm pretty psyched about this. I love Warehouse 13 and I think Brent Spiner will be a perfect fit. :bolian:

Yes, we do know. It's a major part of his backstory. He traded artifacts to help smuggle Jewish people (including his relatives) out of Russia. But the fact that he's Jewish and the Spiner character may or may not be Catholic should be fairly irrelevant, as both characters are interested in keeping artifacts safe. We don't even know what Spiner's character will say or do, or what may alter the character's motivation, so Morpheus, I think that assumption is a bit out of line.

Yeah, I don't really see any of that playing a role in W13, it's just not that kind of show.

I'm not sure Spiner's character is actually a villain. He sounds like he's simpy oppossed t o whatever it is that Artie is trying to do not out of malice but concern for what might be unleashed if Artie gets his way.

There's been so much crap in Hollywood where it's villainized religion, so i'm very wary of things. (And especilaly with the Da Vinci Code & its derivatives that have popped up lately...)

i am definitely NOT spouting any anti-Semitic conspiracy theories (and would join the voices against them) , and would be happy to see more of Artie's background as well (whether him or his family...is it just Pete and his mom where there's some kind of family connection to the Warehouses?)

if that's the case, then i think it will be very interesting to watch. As Eureka is coming to a close, i may transfer some of that love over to Warehouse 13, especially if it goes as you're predicting.

I'm thinking he might be opposed to the W13 agents, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's going to be a "muwahahahah" villain.
