1 unforgivable flaw of this series: the 80s hair metal theme song

It doesn't really sound like Bon Jovi, Poison, Ratt, Def Leppard. Skid Row, Whitesnake, etc. Even when those band do power ballads it doesn't realy sound like Faith of the Heart either.

Agreed, I'd be hard pressed to label Faith of the Heart as much heavier than soft Rock. Also, 1980s Hair Bands/Glam Rock was all about showcasing the Vocals, and lots of "Wah Wah Wah". 80s bands that used the gravelly voice to hide their lack of vocal skill, were much heavier bands, so I disagree with that posted definition

I'd rather have "Archer's Theme," which was originally meant for the opening credits, but wound up being used for the closing credits instead.

T'was bad, aye, but the lack of a single crewmember death in the first two seasons was much worse - one can't mute/skip chapter forward on that. Even The West Wing killed off an employee in its first few eps! :scream:

I don't consider those bands 80s hair metal bands either. When I think of 80s hair metal bands, I think of the likes of Metallica.

Nope, the Glam Rock, "Wah, Wah, Wah" singing style bands were known as Hair Metal. Metallica was just Metal. Known as Hair Metal, because the Band Members had pretty, very styled glamourous hair

Metallica? Doesn't hair metal require big crazy poofy hair, make up and bright patterned clothing?

Yup, Got in one. Though, their music was more Techincally complex then typical of Hair Metal/Glam Rock, Van Halen can also be pigeon-holed into Hair Metal, based upon looks

You mean the penultimate episode of the second season?

I'd say VH was an influence on Hair Metal, especially Dave's look and antics. Though they never really became a Hair Metal band.

Metallica? Hair metal? I think they would TOTALLY disagree with you. So do I.

Hair metal is Poison, then Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Whitesnake, White Lion, Twisted Sister to a degree, Pretty Boy FLoyd and more.

Well, then I totally misunderstood the genre of music which is being discussed then. I just remember Metallica having a lot of hair and playing metal. I thought that was what we were talking about but I'm wrong.

 Back then yes Metallica had a lot of hair! But they were considered "thrash metal". I guess you can still call them that but they have mellowed a tad bit.

Metal is broken up in many genres. If you aren't a fan of metal, it may all sound the same :)

Metallica now

They did have the hair :)

Faith of The Heart is metal? You learn something new everyday, I guess. I love that song. different from all Trek songs, but great nonetheless.i don't understand people who criticize it.
