Must.resist.....penis joke....Dude, how stupid do you have to be to see a snake-like creature and be "Oh, cute! I'm going to touch it even after it snapped at me!"

I do think the old-man make up on Pearce was horrendous. I kept looking at him like, "Why the fuck is he in old-man makeup? Are we going to see a younger version of him or something?"
I'm wondering if the big alien simply assumed the humans were just another form of xenomorph and thus just attacked them by reflex.
Maybe the space jockey had already been infected and the xenomorph had been gestating for a long time. And now that the space jockey was dying it burst out of him to save itself.
We have seen infected people in frenzied states in other Alien films, so maybe that was part of what was driving the space jockey's violence toward the humans?
They were all distinct individuals with most of them there to make a buck. Not much idealism in most of them.
They was expecting a thriving civilization with advanced medical technology.
How is a guy having sex with his girlfriend when they finally get some alone time after 2 years in the freezer and the excitement of a big discovery "TOO fortunate"?
Man, how clumsy was that scene? "Any idiot can make life." "I can't... I can't make life... boo hoo" "I didn't mean that, lets shag."
Thats a fair observation. That last shot of the proto alien emerging was extraneous. At best all they needed to show was the beginnings of something starting or trying to burst through the chest. But actually none of it was needed. When we previously saw the Engineer succumb to the big face hugger we already knew his fate. The worst part was probably the last scene, the 'proto Alien' or whatever. It felt like a cheap way to tie in the film to the Alien series. Not needed at all, and ruined a pretty good last shot.
