Should they have killed off old spok?

I'm fully expecting that we'll see an early introduction to the Borg in this timeline, in a future sequel. Realistically speaking, they are going to go with elements that are familiar to not only hardline Trekkies, but the casual audience (Romulans, Khan, Klingons, Borg). Joe Blow on the street doesn't know who Gary Mitchell is, or Trelane, or the Jem'Hadar, or whoever.

I'm willing to bet there's quite a few casual movie goers who have seen some Trek films, but have never checked out any of the television iterations. So, from the movies alone, we have Romulans, Klingons, Khan, and Borg that stand out in the popular consciousness.

I think that's the only time the two Spocks will meet (rumors about Nimoy appearing in the next movie aside).

I will bet right now that if Old Spock is in the movie, some variation of the following conversation will take place.

"So, you've run into Khan as well?"
"Yes."
"How did you beat him?"
"I died."

I have it on good authority that he will do a mind meld with NuSpock off-screen to supply him with the information to avoid all boring plots. My insider tells me that he will, however, conceal all the fun ones, because that was part of his contract with Paramount under which they sold him the red matter.

Oh, well maybe I can't do zat , but its strange because when I use my link it produces exactly the same result as your second method. Actually with mine there is a delay before it repositions from he top of page three to post 33 for some reason, but it gets there in the end, whereas your one goes straight to the post.

The only identifier in your link above is for the thread as a whole, so I'm not sure what would bring you to a particular post later in the thread, unless perhaps that the post ID is still in your browser cache (I've seen this kind of thing happen with images before, where the person posting a link sees a pic because it's in their cache, but no one else can see it.)

http://www.trekbbs.com/showthread.php?p=6274357#post6274357

Again, I'm not sure how that would work. The first link should go only to the first post in thread (or, depending upon your individual board settings, maybe to the first unread post? not sure about that part, though) while the second points to a specific post within the thread.
