(2011)-2012 NBA Season

Up 7 with 2:00 minutes to go...geez...Blake had a nice look on a well designed play at the end, but just plain missed it.

:scream:

I have to admit to not knowing who most of these Pacers players are, but they absolutely destroyed the Heat. :wtf:

Hopefully those Heat fans who thought the Bulls choked without their top player will STFU now. Probably not, but we can dream.

Miami's toast. They have all the talent, but they aren't ready psychologically. They don't have the mental toughness it takes. LeBron doesn't want the ball at the end of the game. Championship players want the ball. They don't pass the ball away during pivotal closing moments if there's any other option. Durant wants the ball at the end. Westbrook wants it. Parker wants it. LeBron? He doesn't want it. He passes it, even when he doesn't need to pass.

Speaking of Parker, dammit, I know it's too much to ask that the Spurs will lose a game this month, but is it too freaking much to hope that they at least will have to break a sweat at some point during the playoffs?

I know people probably didn't expect much, so I doubt anyone is watching, but the Sixers just had a crazy comeback against the Celtics to tie the series 2-2. In addition, although last game was a blowout, the first two games were decided by a point each. This is actually a pretty fun series.

That it is! I figured that Boston's veteran experience would not allow Philly much room in this series, but the Sixers are seriously playing good ball. Imagine if the Heat had their mental toughness!

Imagine if the Heat had any mental toughness. Sheesh, looks like my Thunder is having its let down game at the moment. Christ, boys, you'd better get it together. It's not like you haven't won at Staples before. Criminy on a cracker. :wtf:

Or conversely, imagine if the Sixers had the Heat's mental toughness--they would have lost by 113 points after being down 15 at the half. Great comeback from the Sixers considering they looked dead in the water at the half.

Well, my Thunder withstood being down by a dozen, a hostile excited crowd, Metta's elbows in Westbrook's face, no foul called when Jordan Hill tripped Westbrook and a melee nearly breaking out....and are only down by 3 at the half. It wouldn't even have been that if Metta World Kiss My Ass hadn't nailed that three with four tenths of a second left. Isn't that precious?

Good thing Russell didn't connect when he came up swinging. I'd have been pissed if I were him, too, but he calmed down when he needed to and my Thunder didn't succumb completely to emotion. Things could have gotten really ugly. Russell got tripped pretty hard. He didn't land soft. That's a good sign that he kept it under control in the long run. They're within striking distance on the road. That's all you can ask.

42 free throws for the Lakers. Yowza. 99-96 defeat for my Thunder, but that's okay. You can't blame the calls. They'll regroup and get it done tomorrow night. You have to play flawless ball on the road, play defense well and don't get in a hole like they did tonight. Kobe's going to get to the line umpteen times in the last few minutes. That's life on the road at Staples.

The only thing that pissed me off was when Artest hammered Durant during the last minute and a half and there was no call while Durant has to grab him going the other way to avoid the fast break, of course. Artest just hatcheted him and no whistle. His free throws swung the momentum during the last minute and a half and sealed the deal leaving my Thunder short. Still, the ultimate blame goes to the Thunder. You have to play a complete game. They shouldn't have gotten in a hole to begin with and played more sound defense. Don't fall into the trap when the Lakers try to push you around and lure you into getting technicals because you're angry.

Kobe made me laugh after he'd been to the line umpteen times in the last few minutes. He's whining to Crawford during that last sequence that the Thunder players are "pushing him in the back." He wanted another call. Whiny little punk ass bitch. No wonder Shaq hated you. I notice that Kobe never throws himself under the bus about anything. He throws his teammates under the wheels regularly, but so far he's free of tire tracks.

Now, I eagerly wait to see if the Clippers can at least make San Antonio break a sweat. No one's that perfect. Eventually the law of averages catches up to you. It can't be double digit sailing all the way for the Spurs. It can't be. :wtf: May as well give them their championship
rings right now if that's the case. Miami sure as hell isn't going to be getting them.

Nobody is stopping my Spurs this year, guys. They are healthy for the first time in years, they're hungry, and they no longer have Richard Jefferson dragging them down. It's going to be Indiana and San Antonio in the finals. Seeing Stern have an MI at the thought of two small markets dragging his ratings down will be entertainment itself.

Stern's too busy praying that Boston makes it.

Erkel and Duncan Jr. kept their post-game poise at the podium... tomorrow will be interesting.

Hush. The nerd glasses make woman palpitate with vascular throbbing. :mallory: Erkel made hearts go pitter pat.

I hate to break it to you, Xevious, but the Spurs will have to break a sweat--at last--in the finals when the Thunder travels down south. I'm sure they'll sweep the Clippers, but you're going to have to work for it in the next round. They're young, but Erkel and company shall not concede. :borg::borg: Not in four games.

Hate to say it, but the Thunder still have to get by the Lakers, who appear to have found a formula for keeping it close. To me, it's almost a must-win for OKC tonight, psychologically speaking...
