Young Justice-Tonight!

Good new episode and I'm really starting to like the way they have expanded the show.
One thing I was wondering during the interrogation scene: Why wasn't Wonder Woman and especially her Lasso of Truth there? Doesn't it work on aliens?

It was established in "Failsafe" that M'Gann's telepathy was far stronger than J'onn had ever realized, which is probably because she's actually a White Martian.

Good point, yeah. I'm still left wondering about her "rip it out of their mind and leave them catatonic" method - though as we see at the end of the episode, it apparently doesn't kill them or leave them comatose long term. But Superboy's reaction compared to Batman and J'onn's is still interesting.

Thanks for the Adam Strange info (Alanna, right!); I mostly meant that "I knew nothing about him but that didn't keep me from enjoying him or the episode" but realize that's not what I actually wrote.

Could be that's not one of its properties in this 'verse?

Aqua Lad is evil now? I'd rather it be that idiotic Lagoon Boy instead. We haven't seen Artemis yet...I'm wondering if maybe she died. I doubt that they'd have her join the bad guys since they did that with Aqua Lad.

I must be getting used to it because the 5 year flash forward doesn't bother me much if at all now.

^But then Diana could use the lasso to make the Krolotean tell the truth and J'onn could use telepathy to translate it, or John Stewart could use his GL ring to do so.

So, is Earth-16 named for the average age of the main characters from Young Justice season one? should they change it now to Earth-21?
A few years ago, after DC's previous reorganization of its continuity, it reintroduced the multiverse idea and asserted that there were 52 parallel universe, numbered from Earth-1 to Earth-52. Some of the numbers were retroactively assigned to various pre-existing alternate continuities like some of the more popular Elseworlds titles and Batman Beyond (and thus implicitly the DCAU as a whole, I guess), but many were unassigned. When Young Justice came along, the producers declared that it took place on Earth-16.
I wish Marvel would do something similar with its multiverse. The numbers there are getting pretty ridiculous. The Marvel Cinematic Universe, for example, takes place on Earth-199999.

I enjoyed the last episode quite a bit. I know some people might take have a problem with the Justice League playing a bigger role, but so far I've liked what's been done with them, and IMO they're still giving The Team quite a bit of attention too. I also think it's worth remembering that the creators have said this is "a DC Universe show". So I'm not surprised to see them broadening their focus.
I don't know much about Aquaman/Aqualad's mythology so I did not expect Kal'dur to have changed sides. I'm really hoping we find out what became of Wally, and Artemis soon.
I really liked the interplay betweem the JLA members and The Team members when they were working together.
I really hope we get a episode focusing more on Cassie/Wonder Girl, Tim/Robin, Barbara/Batgirl and Karen/Bumblebee soon. We've gotten a fair amount of stuff with the other new characters, but that other group hasn't gotten much attention yet.
I didn't mind the Kroloteans, they might not have been some big scary threat, but I thought they stories we've gotten from their invasion have been pretty good.
I'm very curious who The Competitor is/are.

I'm surprised that people see this episode as a harbinger of the JL playing a bigger role, given that the episode ended with eight of the JL's top members going off to another planet for what might be a long time. That strikes me as yet another way to sideline the big heroes so that the Team has to do the heavy lifting, as they often did last season.

There is no prior mythology about the Kaldur'ahm version of Aqualad; he was created for this show.

Possibly. It wasn't her death that made Aqua Lad switch sides, didn't he say something like Aqua Girl or something?

Aquagirl = Tula.

Of course does this mean that she'd finished playing hide the sea-cucumber with Garth?

Because it's not impossible that he's pissed off that someone else's girlfriend died.

SInce they 5 year jump have we seen Wally or heard if they ever found Roy?

No, as noted, though I've seen speculation that Wally is
Flash now
.

Yeah, same here. And last season there was Agendas (I think?), which featured a whole subplot that was League-only on the Watchtower.

Yeah, on a mission of some sort. Maybe this is who Dick was referring to when he told Tim to "just not die," though I still think it's referring to Jason Todd.

Which makes me wonder - are there other members of The Team that were lost as well? Thinking about the Zeta Tube designation numbers in particular...

here's the list from of known designations from the YJ Wiki:

Let's assume for the moment that Rocket is B09. That leaves us with 8 missing designation numbers (9 if Rocket's B08 and Zatanna stuck with A03) - B10 though B16, and B21. We don't know designation numbers for Lagoon Boy, Batgirl, Wonder Girl, Mal, or Aquagirl so that's 5 of them if we assume Jaime's the last to join the team, leaving 3 (or 4) unknown Team members in the last 5 years that aren't part of it any more (for whatever reason).

Obviously these could've been any DC teen hero more or less, so trying to guess would be pure speculation. Jason Todd if I'm not reading to much into Nightwing's "Just don't die" and maybe Garth would make sense though?

^The "A" designations are for authorized guests, as we heard for Adam Strange this week. A03 was the Zeta Tube designator for Zatanna when she was just a visitor. I'd assume that when Z officially joined the team, she got a formal "B" designation -- probably B08, since she was the next to join after Artemis.

Garth Brooks?

It's capes and cowls
It's cheers and scowls
It's might and fatigue
It's gadgets and things
And the joys and the pains
And they call the thing Justice League
