2) Dieze draad is uniek. Alleen der eene Nederlandse draad is toegelaten.

Weelan! :D

Can you remember the Dutch thrad we used to have here 10 years ago?
Now it's back =)

Please follow these rules:

1) This thread is exclusively for non-Trek topics. Post Trek-related topics in the respective sections of the board (in English), please.
2) This thread is unique. Only this one Dutch thread is allowed. Don't start further threads in Dutch, please.

& 3) Have fun!

PS: sorry - I speak just a little Dutch and as you can see I still need a lot of practize. So let's go ahead! :D

Goedeavond :) Hoe gaat het met je? Is in NL ook so prachtig weer vandaag? Perfect for mijn vacantie (en for mijn wasje ;) )

Good evening :) How are you? Do you have such lovely weather in NL today, too? Here in Bavaria it's like summer! Perfect for my vacation (and for my laundry ;) )

Goede avond!

---
I can read and understand the post, but still not proper Dutch.
Here in Wageningen it's more Fall than Spring for the past week.

I can actually pick up a bit of this from having learned some German.

It's the only thing I have to help me with this language too :rommie:

In Denmark we even have a saying: "Dutch is the language only understood by the Dutch and Sea lions" -Actually it's a line from an ol' comedian... but it nevertheless is how we see (hear?) the language. :p

Het spijt mij. - errr... maybe I better explain this in English:
I've never properly learned Dutch but know only what I picked up from newspapers, internet forums etc. And I use a Dutch determination key on Chironomids :) I understand almost everything, but have massive probs speaking or writing the language (for lack of opportunity, mostly).

Can you recommend a book - especially a good grammar - for self-study? I live 1000 km away from the Dutch border and have no native speaker to teach me, not even a Dutch TV station. That was one of the main reasons for me to resurrect ths old thread.

Please don't hesitate to correct me when I mke a mistake. Having one's mistakes pointed out is the only way to learn a langauge really properly, imho.

Well, for Dutch tv try the following sites:

http://www.uitzendinggemist.nl/
http://www.rtl.nl/xl/
http://www.sbs6.nl/gemist/

They are the official sites from the Dutc public and commercial networks with archives for their Dutch tv shows and some movies.

When I was in Finland I could understand some of the Swedish signs thanks to knowing Dutch and some German. Finnish, on the other hand...holy vowels, Batman.

{{{{{{{Auri}}}}}}}! Long time no see! :) (and welcome back to Terran, too, btw)

Finnish is really mean when it comes to grammar. I have friends in Hungaria, so Finnish (which belongs to the same family of languages) holds less horrors for me than for most people, I guess. Still, my Finnish is just sufficient not to mispronounce names and places, but not yet sufficient for a chat.

grins at Trekkiedane Noswaith dda! Sut ydych chi? :nyah:
GB/US/CAN: Good evening! How are you today?
NL: Goedenavond. Hoe gaat het met jij?

@Rincewiend Dankjewel!!!!!!!:adore:
