This photo was in my local paper today
It is the anemone stinkhorn and it is found eastern Australia including Tasmania.
A few days ago in one thread someone asked why there wasn't blue fungi and I found a photo of this (some beautiful photos on that site)
I don't have any good photos of fungi among the photos I have taken mainly because I am no longer capable of bushwalking
but I remember seeing some spectacular examples in the past.
Also, when I was a child, we used to go mushrooming for field mushrooms. Lots of people did it. Farmers didn't seem to mind you going into their field so long as you were careful of fences and didn't annoy the cows. We would come home with a basketful which Mum would cook up. They were much more delicious that the mushrooms that can be bought in a shop today. Occasionally edible field mushrooms come up in my garden. I am thinking serious about growing mushrooms this year.
I hope other here might be interested in this topic. I would appreciate photos, recipes etc.
