Just in case folks didn't know, Headlong Flight is actually the third song from Clockwork Angels released.

The band released two songs last year as a preview, and played them both on the Time Machine Tour.

So if you missed them, here they are (both are awesome, BTW):

    Enjoy!

I was really hoping to go back to Las Vegas for this tour (we've seen Rush there 3 times), but they scheduled the date on the Friday after Thanksgiving. WTF??

An interesting interview by Peter Mansbridge ... with Geddy:
    Link.

A fair amount of "softball" questions, but Geddy answers them thoughtfully.

I'm hoping Wally World puts it out at midnight tonight.
My local record store started selling it early. I almost bought it but they charge $17 plus tax for a CD. I waited five years, I think I could wait a few more days...

    This album is something else!

I'll post something more thoughtful later, but for now I will say this is probably their best album since Power Windows.

The Garden might end up being one of their best songs ever. Beautifully done.

The reviews have generally been very good.

Here are two more positive ones:

This is a great album, IMHO. Several tunes (Clockwork Angels, The Anarchist, Seven Cities of Gold, The Wreckers, Headlong Flight) are top-notch work. And it's nice to hear the keyboards back!

The Garden, the album's closer, is just gorgeous.

It's loosely a concept album, with a consistent theme running through. The whole thing fits together as one piece.

I can't wait for the tour.

That would be pretty cool, on the whole.

That is a fantastic song. It rocks to holy heaven, sure, but it also features a well-written chorus that is sun with conviction that is so unique to Rush's style. It is in the chorus that elevates this song from a fantastic rock song top one that is special.

    I love that one.

You can definitely hear a Signals sound there in the breaks.

The title track is awesome too.

In fact, I think there's only 2 misses on the album, and the other ten are very good - some of their best.

Halo Effect has grown on me, it's like Resist. Not great, but a welcome ballad. It's the second BU2B that does nothing for me.

BU2B2 is just there to move the story along. So I am fine with it.

Yeah, BU2B2 is not even really a song. It's a transition. I just skip it.

The only other song that doesn't do much for me is Wish Them Well.

There is so much to absorb here. I find something new everyday. Today, I'm really enjoying the title track.

Are any of you seeing the tour?

I happen to like Wish them Well, in the tradition of songs like 'Carve Away the Stone.' It could certainly have a bit more teeth, though.

Carnies is cool, but it doesn't take the carnival motif as far or as well as say Mr. Bungle's first album (think 'Carousel')

The best thing about "The Wreckers' is how close it is in style to the Rush stuff from the mid to late eighties.. people that just want to rock might be intrigued by this song and they might give tunes like "Mission' and "Grand Designs."

The only bad thing about "The Wreckers" is the producer's fault. Lifeson starts playing an awesome solo just after the fade at the end starts. I always find it a shame when Lifeson or other guitarists have an awesome solo at the end that has to fade out (like Dream Theater's "Take the Time") but the consolation is that the solo starts before the producer has his hands on the dials that will face it out. The producer started lowering the volume before Lifeson starts his solo. what a shame.

"Seven Cities of Gold" is an expansive track, but it's so good I almost wish it was nine minutes and not seven.
