How would you like to come across that ship at sea?
I love the birthday moment between Walter and Peter. That was really sweet along with the moment when Walter looked at Peter, Olivia, and Astrid working closely together and he had that look that said "everything as it should be."
I knew Olivia's acceptance of the loss of her memories of her alternate life would have consequences and I like that the episode took the time to explore them. I feel sorry for Lincoln being the odd man out and losing his chance to be with Olivia. I hope he finds someone. If not, I have this strange feeling he may be heading towards a tragic fate.
The twist the writers took with the FOTW by opening it with something we have seen before only to take it for a different turn later on peaked my interest. It made me wondering why this case was happening now than earlier in the alternate timeline's past like it was originally.

Well Gang, I'm outta here for tonight. I gave it an 'Average', this really seemed more like a 'Freak of the Week' type ep than one that really pushes the plot along. I could be wrong and time will tell. Next week looks to be a bit better.

Bad. It was as slow as molasses, the porcupine creature belonged in one of those bad SyFy B-movies and of all stories to revisit why one of the worst ones from S1, oohhh Lincoln pining over Olivia--yawn--not much of anything happened. Oh how I miss good sf tv shows like TNG or The X-Files.
In fairness, even if the plot was as bad as a SyFy B-Movie, the execution (and the effects, truthfully) were MUCH better than anything I've seen on SyFy recently.
I feel the episode was merely average. However, I'll give it an 'Above Average' for the Walter-Peter moment. That was the first real father-son moment since last season.
And yet you manage to catch every episode of Fringe.
Peanut butter and bacon.... mmmmm.
I thought Walter and his mad scientist bits were hilarious. I openly laughed at the very odd peanut-butter and bacon sandwich. Then Lincoln comes around and eats the bacon. Walter's response? "I guess you didn't like the peanut butter". 
The emotional bits with Olivia and Peter were great as always. This is the reason why I'm a fan of it.

I haven't watched Fringe all season except for the last two episodes hence why I posted only in these last two threads--I wanted to see if it improved over the mediocrity of last season and unfortunately it hasn't so I'm going back to being a casual viewer--i.e. if I'm bored and there is absolutely nothing else on I might catch an episode.

The 1st 1/2 of Flash Gordon was bad, but the 2nd half of the season actually felt like a modern Flash Gordon series, and had a good character with the Prince Barin replacement. Unfortunately, like the Manny Coto season 4, would have been great to begin the show with, but came in too late to save the show from doom.
