lets cast historical figures.

Well, at least your OP went with the title of "Let's cast historical figures". That way the thread has a definable point that is worth posting upon and may even inspire interesting conversation.

Otherwise, the thread has turned into "Hey, these two random people/characters/ look vaguely similar!" And I don't really think that's really a thread with a real point to it.

So no, personally I'd rather you not change the OP or the title IMO, but YMMV.

Jonathan Frakes could play Todd Palin.

He nearly became the first dude.

In old days he would had been nobility like the wife of the prince or something.

Leaving aside the fact that Todd Palin is very much still alive. He's no Buzz Aldrin.

I'll grant you if things had gone down differently in 2008, he would have been *just* the husband of the V.P. (as Nerys Myk helpfully pointed out), that might have gained him a footnote in a history book. But my question was: What has Todd himself done to be regarded as a historical figure?

Is everyone related to an elected official thereby granted historical figure status?

Pop quiz: Without using a search engine can you name the V.P.'s Wife when Star Trek premiered?

Exactly. Well, there's Game Change, so I suppose he's already been cast, but he's nothing more than a footnote, and lucky to have any attention at all. We could say the same thing about Hillary Clinton and her presidential race, if it weren't for the fact that her husband were President, but even she's done more in politics than he has. But in a similar context, we could say she very nearly was the first female American President. Footnote.

Then again, Yevetha has gone on record as saying he'd(?) rather change the title and OP than take credit for blatantly disregarding the point of his own thread.

Anyhoo...

Liam Neeson

as

Edward the Longshanks, Hammer of the Scots.
