Theaters raise prices on 2D movies to lower cost of 3D movies

So let me get this straight you are going to be charged the same admission price regardless of what movie you see.

Don't see the issue of a universal admission price.

The first time I saw Avatar was in 2D which I enjoyed. I later saw it in 3D which was fun - but I don't feel the need to sit in a cinema wearing a pair of funny glasses.

Until the technology improves dramatically, I think 3D will come and go (again) as it did in the '50s.

Like I needed more proof that 3D is worse than AIDS.

Epidemic 3D in Africa has led to many deaths.

I haven't gone to see a movie since last summer. I almost don't care anymore. It seems like a hassle to drive to the cinema and spend 2+ hours of my weekend sitting in the dark staring at a screen when I could stay home and watch youtube. ;)

My 2D prices are going up because 3D isn't working out... so now I'm paying for something I'm not watching.

After losing 3 friends to AIDS - One on Thanksgiving 2010 - I do find these comments offensive. Volunteering with HIV/AIDS patients has let me see more due to AIDS related complications, including an 8 year old boy. I cannot find the humor in either comment.

Sorry to derail the comment, but I couldn't let it go due to my experiences with AIDS/HIV patients.

You know people talk about these big chain theaters charging a lot for movies, and I went to AMC last weekend and only paid 6.00 (Weekend Morning showing of The Hunger Games). That's still a pretty good deal.
